Re: tunnel

I'd presume we'll have all five going at once at some point during the week. OK, I'm informed the Nausts will probably burn out on the playa instead, but the tunnel will definitely be going each night. FYI, there are also several "gatherings of the virgins" planned during the week (around 1 PM, I t...

Within the context of Infinite Oasis, it makes perfect sense. The IO had originally requested Esplanade placement, so having Wacky Shack fronting the village made even more sense in that context. I don't know precisely what the Wacky Shack folks have planned as far as nighttime entertainment (I wou...

Re: tunnel

Thanks Papa Bear...where will the TOT be located this year? The Infinite Oasis village, at Earth and 4:30 (or to be more precise, spanning from Earth to Jupiter @ 4:30). The center of the IO plaza is a Native American medicine wheel (mind the rocks in the dark!), and the tunnel is at the center of ...

You're welcome to bring them to walk through the Tunnel of Transformation in the Infinite Oasis. It will be burning every night, including Wednesday.

Earth and 4:30

Just to update now that the placements are out: The HeeBees are to be found in the Infinite Oasis village, at Earth and 4:30.

Very close to where we were last year, for those of you who visited us then.

Thanks for the tip. We're sufficiently spread out that we should be able to hit up plenty of different hospitals.

I've heard it takes about 6 hours if you leave at 9am It all depends on your luck. I've driven that route many times, almost always in the 4-hour timeframe from the south bay. Last year was the exception that prioves the rule, though. I was heading up early to help set up the theme camp the Friday ...

Thanks all. That will be a big help. FYI, aside from guest healers and tables, the thing we can use the most is extra sheets (and pillowcases for the face cradles). Last year we had a dozen or so tables occupied full-time the entire week, and I'll be surprised if we don't have more this year. Every ...

Another note on the shower thing: in addition to bringing water and your own camp shower, plan a way to capture and remove the water you use. Shower water is "grey water", and it's a violation of "leave no trace" to let it hit the playa (i.e., the ground). If you haven't read it already, wander over...

I'm not from LA (in the process of moving from the SF Bay area to Colorado, actually), but the HeeBeeGeeBee Healers are from all over.

I can think of several from the LA area just off the top of my head, so let me know if you'd like help getting in touch.

Help the HeeBeeGeeBee Healers help others!

Appreciate the healing arts? Want to help them be available to more people this year? Then read on. The HeeBeeGeeBee Healers are getting all revved up to get our healing space together and out to the playa. This year we've added another healing tent (bringing us to 3 tents and a total of over 6000 s...

Interesting. May I ask why?

I can easily see why a person might hate some theme camps, or the notion of "registered" theme camps (and the associated bureaucracy), but I'm genuinely curious to know why you would hate them all.

Stumbling in a little late (just saw the thread)... The Sportsman's Guide table is only 24" wide, which is awfully narrow. Your standard "professional" massage table will usually run somewhere between 27" and 34" wide, and I'd say 29-31" is the norm. The width you choose would depend on your body ty...

Actually, if we needed a five-way, we just made a six-way and left one end unused. Kept things simpler, and garden hose is cheap.

I'll give it a shot. To build a connector, cut 3 pieces of garden hose, each about 10 inches long. Lay those 3 pieces against each other like an asterisk. Punch or drill a hole through all three hoses at the center of the asterisk, put a short bolt through with washers on each side, and fasten tight...

Using flexible connectors for dome struts?

A number of years back (long before I ever heard of burning man) some friends and I were experimenting with geodesic dome structures for an outdoor live-action roleplaying group. One of the more successful variations we came up with was to use flexible connectors to hook up the conduit struts. In ou...

Re: removal of rebar

The small one is what you would need. any questions? We had one of these this year. Worked like a dream. Good thing too, as I'd estimate we had nearly 200 rebar stakes among the large structures alone. The only downside is that we couldn't figure out a way to pull rebar that was driven in at an ang...

Re: Mobile Art?

If you took the spa out on the playa you have the chance to gift your services / art / whatever to a much larger group. I don't think the main benefit of mobility would be in reaching larger numbers of people. Myt guess is it would be swamped either way (we sure were). The thing I like is that it w...

I witnessed that too antrony, but I think we need a different category for the bike tank crew -- "clueless" isn't sufficient. Definitely ask...

IMHO, it's definitely wiser (and more considerate) to ask -- and if you can't find someone to ask, assume the answer is "no". It's the difference between gifting and taking. Also, don't assume that what's OK in one part of a camp is OK in another. We had a couple of our small domes commandeered at d...

Good idea, but some considerations

I think your biggest challenge would be the shower idea. Greywater disposal is one big problem, especially on a mobile platform, but simply bringing enough water to keep things going all week could be another. The folks from Astral Headwash have tons of experience with that kind of thing and could p...

Colorado's far from the only state left out in the current organization of this portion of the ePlaya. See http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=293 .
