Re: Where do I camp?
Stay away from packs of rvs unless you want to suck fumes. Stay away from porta potty banks unless you want to smell stank and hear vomit around 4 am. Stay away from the large sound camps unless you like that sort of thing all the time. If you head around 9 o'clock and orient everything correctly yo...

Re: What constitutes "low income"? (talk amongst yourselves
Boy! I step away from this discussion for a few days and suddenly it's this monstrous diatribe of class warfare! Good grief! Are we not all people? Do we not all have problems? Do we all make choices with consequences? Give your head a shake! Retrofrolic has a good mixture of people of all incomes ...

Re: What constitutes "low income"? (talk amongst yourselves
\Car? Why not take amtrak? Is is much cheaper and you can take alot of bags. I make less then both of you, have 30k in student loan debt and medical debt about in the 10k range. But I am finding ways to do this burn cost effective that is no where close to $1000 or even $2000. For 2 people It shoul...

Re: What constitutes "low income"? (talk amongst yourselves
Thanks for the discussion everyone. As for my situation I have a daughter, school debt and all. Last year I hitched from New York to the burn and managed to make the trip for around $700-$800 after camp dues because I needed someone to haul in water for me. It's a long walk from the end of the highw...

Re: What constitutes "low income"? (talk amongst yourselves
You can do it cheaper than $3k.. geezus christ. For someone that only made $13k last year, you sure are makin' it rain. sorry, that's for the two of us. two tickets @ $390 plus travel back and forth from the east coast and we're already at $1400 or so. Planning on building another art piece for our...

What constitutes "low income"? (talk amongst yourselves)
Made 13k last year after being laid off twice. A trip to the burn will eat up between $2,000 - $3,000 (3,000 miles of travel eats up the budget) and a credit card will be purchasing a ticket if it happens. What exactly constitutes low income? Not looking to game the system or get thrown into the pit...

Re: Low Income Ticket Program
So with the fact that there's going to be 4,000 tickets for most likely many times that number of applicants are we going to be allowed to register for STEP and throw in an application for low income? Just because I'm willing to pay BM's blood money with a credit card the banks hand out to lure me i...

Should be two. Some people don't use plastic and there aren't any walk ins available.

Re: Please Help Preserve the Low Income Ticket Program
Those of us who could only afford the lowest tier are now priced out of the March sale. Just because we were willing to pony up the extra $80 doesn't mean we're not f'n broke. As many of you are probably unaware America is still in the midst of the worst financial crisis in 80 years. The division in...

Drop the purchase limit on March sale to 2 per
Would like thoughts on this. 10,000 divided by four will disappear twice as fast as if everyone's allowed two (thanks public education). Really don't want to see the last best chance for a lot of us get swallowed up by the scalpers and people who decide they want to profit on something they don't un...

Re: Official "Awarded Tickets" Thread
If it's based on a gift economy then why buy tickets in the first place? Shouldn't it be free...or pay what you think it is worth? You cannot charge for something and then get mad when people who also bought the tickets see that the demand is higher than the supply and decide to make a little money...

Anyone put together a line up book this year?
Last year someone I ran into actually had a book they'd printed compiling line ups for the various sound camps. Anyone know if something like this got put together this year? I've been looking around the forums but haven't found one. Help is appreciated.
