Re: Deodorant!

I've found that a splash of cheap vodka in and around the underplaces kills the offending bacteria and leaves me fresh as a spring day...

Re: Looking for a recording of general Playa background nois

In 2010 I made an HD sound recording by walking around for 70 minutes. I put together a DVD w/ the soundtrack. PM me with your address and I will send you a copy. It does make great background for a party!

Re: what are you listening to?

Some of you may be interested in tuning in to radio station KUYI, broadcasting from Hotevilla on Hopi land in Arizona. They stream online at kuyi.net I'm lucky enough to be able to pick it up on my radio. If you tune in around 6 pm daily, you can catch the birthday hour. In the mornings you might he...

Re: Playa Lung Dust Masks

I recently bought a comfortable half-face mask with P100 (hepa) filters. It has a silicone face seal and doesn't interfere with my goggles-over-glasses Can't wait to not need it on the playa this year. 3M Half Facepiece Respirator #7503 (Large. Medium is #7502, small #7501) http://www.pksafety.com/p...

BMIR Streaming Broadcast

I don't know if this is the best place to post this but if anyone is in contact with the good folks on the playa, have someone at BMIR check their broadcast volume. I'm trying to keep up with events at BRC but can barely hear the station. Thank you!

Don't Just Bump 'er, Sticker

And, if we can include those cute notes we write to those who have trouble parking correctly:

AIM HIGH!
Why take up two parking spaces
when, with a little effort,
you could block all four!

Re: Home Brewing Beer

The labels were printed on letter size label stock that can run thru a laser printer. I was using a Xerox color laser printer at the local print shop. Ink jet printers do not have the color vibrancy nor the sharpness of laser. And ink jet inks will wash off in water. I usually use the beer kits that...

Re: Home Brewing Beer

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good online resource for home brewing... I've had good success with most brew supply stores selling mail order, except my near-local outlet in Flagstaff. They usually pack the order incorrectly but have made up for it, alas, after the fact. I think they e...

Re: Where do I camp?

Print out a plan of the site and from the survival guide, note the prevailing wind direction. Choose a spot generally up wind and off to the side. That kept me out of most of the dust last year. Even when (Thursday?) the wind changed direction 180 degrees. Still, being off to the side meant relative...

Re: Has anyone used these goggles before?

I'm not a big fan of Transition lenses. They never seemed to get completely clear, which was a problem for me at night, with my prescription glasses.

Re: Greetings Eplayans!

'Tis a sad day when a fellow can't get a common welcome from the Pounder, but thanks for the link. I've decided simply to put off my burn until next year and will gift my trike to a burner friend who was in a motorcycle accident and still has some trouble with his balance.
Enjoy yourself amigo.

Greetings Eplayans!

This is my first post to this list. I've been lurking since last year, when I attended my first burn, Metropolis. I must have heard of this wondrous gathering about fifteen years ago. I recall being reminded September after September that Burning Man had just ended. In July last year a friend mentio...
