That's great, Mel. Really great. And I'm glad you say you're a Buddhist. That really lends you an air of credibility here. But, ah...again...and I think you're a great resource for this question... All the technology is going to be available for us to take home and recreate on our own, right? Free o...

2) Burning Man is theirs (the LLC), mine and ours. It belongs to everyone that attends, to every one that's participated, to everyone that's volunteeered. Quite wrong, I'm afraid. Marion makes it quite clear in the article to whom Burning Man belongs... Oh, and another thought... Since the spirit o...

After all It wasnt a group of tourist from the us who flew two jets into a mosque. You are so right. It was George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the rest of the Gang. And they did it from underground bunkers, miles away from harm and pinned the job on fanatics in order to garner support for an unjustified...

Is there time to do that? I happen to really like that idea. It's an event and I want people to know about it. I've never really thought about putting something in there. Kooky.
I wonder if it'll get past the editor.

edit:
It's so easy! Who knew?

1000 Burner Protest: Project Jericho

I'm looking for a thousand people who want to protest the corporate pavilion. I have two months to organize this relatively small number. 1/40 or 1/45 or so of the population of BRC. I'm looking for people who are opposed to the idea of the direct corporate infiltration of BRC and the invitation of ...

I wrote that before I found out that Burning Man is a marketing convention. It's amazing how much some stupid magazine article can change your opinion on the event. It's not my opinion of the event that's changed. It's the event that I love . What's changed, or at least what I'm now aware of, is th...

Yeah, but the box is going to have a tyvek cover to allow, what is it? Gas transfer? I would think that something as fragile as a mushroom would be succeptible even to the tiniest amount of foreign matter. And I guess even if alkali is basic (thank you, cap) couldn't that still screw up the pH enoug...

What I'm looking for is protein though, lots of protein, with some carbs. Does anyone have any power bar recipes? Stuff I can make here and carry out. Shelf stable stuff that I can carry with me in my pouches.

Inasmuch as the census is part of what has helped turn corporate America on to Maid Marion's "dream for anyone looking at demographics," I think a census boycott or outright sabotage is a great idea.

what are you doing to make a difference for the environment? I ride a bike instead of driving until my fucking legs fall off, I recycle fastidiously, I eat organic foods, and I'm switching to a vegetarian diet. I'm not an artist, I don't own a gallery, don't know how to weld, don't own a successful internet startup. Hell, I didn't even know I was supposed to be out there 'networki...

Consider it signed. I don't know what kind of a difference it's going to make though. The article and everyone involved already acknowledges how burners ("that's what Burning Man participants call themselves") feel about commercialism. If I go...and if this persists...this is my last year. Time to s...

I heard that reused trash bags are going to be big this fall, thanks to the theme. White is in and black is not because it's just too hot! Forget about perfume, honey. You smell like enchilada sauce and tuna cans! Yay!
