Re: Ticket Increase Price Game February 2016 edition

I thought they were $40. That must have been the year before. I honestly don't remember (and didn't pay attention) to the vc prices, as it was part of my SITE team stipend. It just seems odd that the price keeps jumping each year. My thought is that it's just another way to get moneys. Probably easi...

Re: Ca route 80 or 395 HELP?

For the last 6 years, I have taken (from socal) I5 north to the 138 E to the 14 N. The 14 eventually turns into 395. In bridgeport, just before you enter town (and across the street from NAPA auto parts), I split off 395 and take 182. In about 10 miles you hit state line, and the road becomes Nevada...

Re: Ticket Increase Price Game February 2016 edition

I'll continue to drink the Kool-Aid until it burns more than the STD I picked up last year at the burn.

One question though.... Who raised the vehicle pass cost? NDOT? The org? A 100% increase seems pretty suspect to me.

Oh well...

Pass the purple drink..

Re: The Car Thread

If I were contacted by them, I'd build it. But I doubt they would pay me what I want. For now I will keep plugging away on the Impala. I'm waiting for the lower control arms and strut rods. Then powdercoat time! I found a set of the old Delco spiral shock absorbers, and I am trying to find a way to ...

It's never easy to predict what's going to be collectible and what's not. Porsche made a 356 notchback way back when. (not sure if it was an A or a B). Porsche didn't make many of them, and as such one would think they they more valuable. They aren't. Why? Because they weren't well received by the p...

For me, the more connectivity the better. Im on Playa for 3 weeks, and the only way I can be allowed that luxury is to be able to work while I'm there.

Re: The Car Thread

Ive been painting cars for 15 plus years. Kandys, flake, pearls, you name it. I also do extensive fab work. Turned a 53 Buick roadmaster hard top into a factory convertible, using a rusted tag top donor car. Anyway, the best way to great panels is to use electric shears and a flanging tool. Your goi...

Its not home, at least for me.

Its a week long party in the desert. No more, no less.

One more thing no one brought up....

Liability.

If someone gets really hurt or dead, you are in for years of litigation, even if you form an llc. Plus what captain said. And everyone else.

Re: Cycling TO Burning Man

It's particularly troubling that your main concerns seem to be around ruining a bike and not around how horrifically dangerous driving a bike the last stretch. To reiterate what other folks have already said, the road out there has absolutely NO shoulder for VERY long stretches, has curves and hill...

Have your Playa wedding, then have a reception back at home.

Or, have an informal wedding on Playa, and the official ceremony at home.

Rhino you are so right about that one.

I meant stuff like generators, starters, water pumps, wheel cylinders, and power steering pumps. Centric is one of the largest producers of aftermarket replacement parts. Their stuff is pretty good. It's the crap at auto zone that you gotta look out for.
