Re: What a effen joke.

Engineer, man I feel your pain. All I want to do is build/fix shit this year on playa too. I got lucky; we got one ticket for my lady. So we are on. Hell, i postponed getting a new RV until I found out for sure we were both going, cuz if she wasnt then I sure as hell wouldnt. So when I hear that cam...

Re: What a effen joke.

see i have a theory. There are artist and there are fabricators. There are true art cars and there are ruckus wagons. And there are a few glorious instances where these two meet up in complete union. I am a fabricator. Simple as that. Most of us are one or the other. Because it takes a lifetime of ...

Re: What a effen joke.

The questions you're asking have been asked and answered many times around here already. It's a matter of resourcefulness and what you're comfortable doing. Some camps/projects don't start doing anything until their slots are full, dues are paid, and all the money is raised. Others do some advance ...

Re: We need tips for buying a used RV

Having owned various rvs and trailers, I think that a class A will be your best bet. The class C's have smaller fresh/gray/black water tanks, and the two of you will have a hard time spending a week in the desert without needing water and waste tanks emptied. I have a 1988 31' bounder that I just ac...

Re: Dear BMORG: Please publish who is getting the 10,000 tic

The org should absolutely not publish who gets tickets. What possible good could come from that knowledge? But I could absolutely see a camp get harrased, or mv get vandalised by a particicpant(s) who was angry that their camp or friend did not receive a ticket. The safety of a few outweighs the wan...

You will love it. Such an amazing group of people. They did the "walk about woods" art project on playa in 2011. Come to the wednesday night potluck dinner and discussion. It is quite fun!

Re: How do you become a Ranger?

Sign up online. Select a ranger training near you (if you are anywhere in CA, opt for training at the Integratron; its amazing). Or you can train on playa or on fourth of juplaya. The training is about 7 hours long. During the training, you go over rules and proceedures. After that you go through an...

Re: Help I can't stop....

I wear my ranger shirt to work. Ive had more than a few sideways looks from people, but by far the best reaction was a guy who yelled "Fuck you, ranger!" at me in a parking lot in LA.

Priceless....

Re: Update: Falling in Love at Burning Man

So glad to hear! Same thing happened to me. A long time friend met me on playa in 07. We really connected, and decided that we needed to be together. I was married at the time, but the emotional pull to my friend was too much. My divorce was nasty (as one could expect), but its finally over, and my ...

Re: Eliminate ravers to fix ticket problem

The large sound camps are a big part of why I come to the playa. Where in the default world can you in one night see Oakenfold, then walk a bit and see Bass Nectar, then do it again with different DJ's for the next 5 nights? And the comment that most of the people that flock to these camps do not co...

Re: 2012 Theme Camps - will you make it this year?

we are the chop shop, a bicycle repair camp. its a small group consisting of about 12, with about 7 of us as mechanics. of those 7, 3 of us are welders/fabricators. as of today, only 2 of us have tickets. we are gonna be there no doubt, but it may not be all of us. we had discussed last year being i...

Re: cooling your tent or van

i built the bucket cooler as a way to humidify the air in our rv, and as a supplement to the a/c. i used a cigarette lighter adapter, and plugged it in directly. about the only thing i would do differently is use a bigger fan. the 107cfm dayco wasn't enough for a small rv.
