Re: Satellite Images of 2012 Burning Man

Wetransfer will only allow you to upload and email the link to one person. Does anyone know a good host that will allow general sharing for large files? In this case, all the Sat images I have combined into a .zip is about 1.5GB. Or does anyone have a FTP they are willing to let us use for a few wee...

Still looking for a large file host!

HD Moop Map for Day 2
For some reason Rapidshare lists it as 0x0 pix, but when you DL it it's the normal 4668 × 3676 pixels.
On that note: Still looking for a place to host the big files... Any suggestions?

Re: Tell me if your voice phone worked this year.

AT&T iPhone 4, normal service. It worked for text messages (not iMessage) opening Sunday eve and early Monday. Put it away after camp mates arrived to correct campsite Monday. Could send, but not receive texts. Camp mates who came Monday confirmed they got them tho. Never tried a voice call.

Re: "MaxCold" coolers - 5 days of ice?

I used several rolls of this to wrap the hell out of my large (forget which size, but the biggest size I could find) coleman MAX coolers. Then I wrapped most of that in silver reflective tape to hold it on. All my coolers lived in my Hexy, but I had surplus ice at the end of the event. They were pa...

Re: MOOP Map Live 2012 Edition

It's HD Time! Not quite as big as last year since all my large file sharing services went down. Every one I've seen so far only allows you to email a link, not have a general share.. Any suggestions so I can start uploading the big ass files? I like the huge versions as they let you zoooooom way in....

Re: Alright, let's hear the best and worst from 2012

Best 1. We were 40, the "kids" next to us were in their early 20's. We couldn't make it past 3am. They consistently saw the sunrise. We were in an trailer. They had tents and cooked food in the dirt. We were relatively sober. Many of them weren't. But they were the best bunch of "kids" we met and t...

Re: generator and ac on the playa

Living at 7,500' in Utah, I was happy to get a little extra juice out of my Honda eu3000is down low on the Playa. Nice to get down to the lower altitudes once in awhile, it's amazing how you don't sunburn as easy and you feel like you could run for miles without getting out of breath.

The Satellite Photo

Working on the higher rez version, but it's over a gig in size! Due to clouds there were pics on the 30th and 31st of Aug. Here's a teaser, but I have to go to work. (this pic is from the 31st) I'll be doing the super duper high res moop maps again this year off these. http://i.imgur.com/sgSUT.jpg

Re: 2012 Experiences with Police

On day 2 I was out near the man and I saw 2 police trucks speeding over to the 10 o'clock area (they cut off the Dancetronauts art car going ~30mph, it had to hit the brakes). I looked at the area they were headed towards and saw a flood of police lights (roughly 20-25 cars). Later in the week I he...

Re: EXODUS, when did u leave. How long did it take 2 the roa

We left at 3:30 PM on Monday. From 8:05 & I. It was a slow five mile-per-hour crawl down a very bumpy gate road but we did not stop until just before the pavement. There was a brief five minute wait and then on the road and out of town. We hit traffic before Gerlach but it was a steady 5 mph. Once w...

Thank you to both of you. Yes, I understand that windows/vents etc are important, but no one seems to get that my question i...

Re: HexaYurts

OK, I should have windows (vents, whatever) so I'll be ok there. I think it's safe to assume any smallish space if truly sealed isn't safe to be in for any period of time. C02 buildup makes you sleepy, and since I would be sleeping in there already, there's no way to know if you are going to die fro...

Re: HexaYurts

I can't speak as an expert, but I put vents on each side of my H15. I used two A/C filters per side with a shroud built over them so the wind/sand never blew directly at it. It was also minimized the light. They worked great and when it was windy, I could feel the air moving Thanks for the response...

Remarkably, our EZ up still folded up, only minor damage to one joint which was already repaired once. Had the canopy been on, it would have ended up halfway to Idaho. It is an older one, quite heavy. 047 - Copy.JPG That yellow frame with the silver shade cloth? Center Camp. Missed by that much. Mi...

Re: Camel bak, good or bad?

I had mine last year and loved it. I'm not sure the size but guessing it holds 2-3L. I was wearing it all the time... It became my clock. I would fill it nearly full of ice every day and fill the remaining space with water. When I was out and about and it would run dry that was my time to head back ...

Most likely the giant theme camps will suffer this year, and there will be a flood of tickets that virgins (who have no idea about STEP) need to sell closer to the event time once they realize just what they are getting into. (First year at the burn can be daunting and expensive when getting stuff y...
