Re: Law Enforcement in 2105

Sooooo... As we were busy giving out BLM swag this year, I had a few interesting conversations and observations. The BLM and Pershing sherriffs were doing joint patrols. Generally the BLM officers were more friendly and talkative than the sheriffs, but the bigger divide was the veterans to the event...

Asparagus kept well into 6 days, and were delicious grilled. I will bring more next year. Brisket was amazing, easy to prepare and popular. I will bring more next year. I discovered I HATE cooking eggs out there, and that one can overdo it on the bacon. Breakfast sausage instead of all bacon next ye...

Re: Free art storage on magical 60 acres near Yosemite

Are you offering indoor space? That's the biggest issue here. Most art is not designed for 24/7 exposure to the elements. They will rust and decay. Most artists aren't looking for free land to dump nice art.

It's a shame really. Were it not for the corporate advertising, it would just be a funny parody video and parody is protected. It's why BoA can't sue Spank of America.

In particular, I cringe at the term "bucket list" regarding BM because if it's a bucket list item you have already missed the point - eating a gardenburger once is not "experiencing the vegetarian lifestyle". Though I find the term annoying (stupid movie) coming to Burning Man because you want to c...

So dusty that Grai and I are seriously considering an RV next year. Thank god for the Yurticorn. I was just fucking done with it all on Friday.

That said, the crochet hut did survive when other shade structures were failing.

I was a nerd jock. But math. Math was always good. I was on the fast math track which was a problem for the school. It would have meant hitting calculus in 11th grade and doing multivariate calc senior year. But since they didn't want an extra class, they put us in a holding pattern for a year so th...

Food might be tight, but have we ever truly run out of booze? I mean te espresso martinis might be gone, but I'm sure we can scrounge up a warm PBR or some Southern Comfort.

That's the 2014 Census. So peak entry was Sunday. Monday was less with a second peak on Tuesday that I'm guessing was due to the rain closure.

See if this helps:

That's a satellite image of walk in camping. The city is in the upper left. That arch of cars all parked next to each other. The spares dots in the center are the individual camps. If you are right on the road like that, no chance you're getting boxed in.

Three cheers for the small art. I saw a random person on FB who had them posing with my cougar as their profile pic. It was awesome.

It's always the city art that makes me smile and laugh. It encourages me to do my own art, that it's all welcome and appreciated.

No one can tell you because no one can know. There could be 8 hours or no wait at all. There could be rain or dust which shuts down the gate. There could be an accident on 447. There could be godzillas.

Prepare for godzillas and you'll be happy with kittens.

Bring a charger. Listen around your neighborhood for a generator. Ask to charge. Small devices use very little juice. Most would be happy to help out.
