Re: Anybody know what's allowed at Temple?

Is every thread going to become a pity fest now? Correction on the binder clips -- medium (1-1/4") might be big enough, Best typically uses a couple tractor-trailer loads of half-inch plywood in that thing. No, I'm not trying to garner pity, though my comment was admittedly very passive-aggresive. ...

Re: Anybody know what's allowed at Temple?

I refuse to worry about staples. Consider this my effort to be the best Burgin I can be (since a significant number of people here on ePlaya have lambasted me in the most ugly, paltry, misdirected way, and I've essentially been turned into a social pariah against my will). Thank you for the tip on ...

Re: Anybody know what's allowed at Temple?

Would anyone happen to know a less MOOP-y way to attach something to the temple? My initial thought was a staple gun, but the staples won't disintegrate. I understand that there's a lot of MOOP when the construction materials of the temple are considered, but I would like to be able to contribute wi...

Re: Low Income Ticket Program

I don't know if you actually owe anyone an apology. If someone had bought you a plane ticket and Coachella ticket, then everyone else owes you a pretty big apology. In any case, this is the wrong apology. It is like when the state apologizes for the release of some photos showing government agents ...

Wow, really? Really? And here I thought that Burning Man was about acceptance, particularly of those who want to contribute to the experience and not just sparkle pony their way through the week as a mooch and spectator, which is what I plan to do. Instead of getting really, really pissed off (which...

Re: Has anybody been awarded a Low Income ticket yet?

Sooo....do we know if the "6 weeks" stipulation is based on business days or calendar days? If it's based on business days, we have quite some time to wait. If it's calendar days, then we can all respectfully email the LIT program about our applications. I thought it would be best to ask here first ...

See.. and right here... this is exactly what is wrong with the low income ticketing program as specifically called out by BBadger. How is it that you were able to apply on Feb. 15th? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that they didn't release the application until Feb. 29th, which means that the longest anyone's application has been in the hands of the LIT program is just shy of 3 weeks.

Is it weird that I'm really excited about filling out the low income ticket application today? Quick tip! Don't know if anyone will find this useful, but I've found a good "recipe" for disinfecting bladders without leaving a nasty taste. It sounds like, in the time you've spent researching the event, you've set a bunch of expectations…. d'oh! Scarcity is a bitch. It can bring out the worst in the very best people. Low income rumination and "birgin hate"

So, this is a long post, and I'm sure it's bound to piss some people off...sorry, but I felt the need to express my feelings on all this madness. I'm getting worried about this whole process. We're playing army out here, goddammit. +1 Personally, I'm a fan of my model. Being a burgin, I like the packs that are made for runners. I've seen lots of those out there, and they are unlikely to be especially vulnerable while under a good monkey hut. Has anyone had any experience with using a "collapsible kitchen"? I'm a birgin as well, but I've taken off many days of class in a row as an undergraduate student to attend music festivals. Re: Tips for renting cars under age 25

If it helps : Two years ago, I went to BRC with a friend. I was under 25 and he was under 21, and we are not US residents, so they don't even wanted to add my friend as a second driver, and we were supposed to pay a fee because I was not 25. So we prepared to pay the $25/day surcharge... but turns ...

First of all, congratulations on having your surgery! 2012 will be my first burn, and I'll be experiencing the playa as a WLS recipient. Better count in travel costs from Texas, renting (with your friends.. an RV), costumes, and alcohol. So, that's $400 in travel costs, $250 for your part in an RV, Stuff you buy at Target/Walmart in Reno $150, camp dues, stuff breaking down that you can't control.. etc. IF this was Coachella, for ex...

Basically, they want you to think long and hard about whether you can afford to get a ticket in the main sale at $240. I can afford either ticket price, to be quite honest. Like I've said before, I make it work. The difference in price between a low income ticket and a regular, lowest tier ticket i...

Ok, so I have a serious question now. Being a Birgin, I don't know a lot about the low income ticket policy. I know how much they cost, but I can't seem to find a lot of details. From what little I have gathered, it sounds like I'll need to fill out a form that states why I deserve a low income tick...
