Re: Birgin here, signing in!

Haha! Well, I like to take photos of myself from time to time. I figure, if I have the proper equipment, the creativity and the college-level skills, why can't I make myself glamorous? (Plus, I am single, so I figure it can't really hurt lol). If you're interested, I will have my camera out on the p...

Re: Birgin here, signing in!

Since the members of eplaya have been so open and inviting, I thought I might update my life and its relation to Burning Man. First of all, my life has become so much more exciting since I (finally) got my acceptance letter from University of Houston. I'll be starting in January, and I can't wait! S...

Re: Let's see a positive turnaround here.

YOU, my dear, Are SCORCHINGLY HOT in so many ways. How chivalrous of you, sir! Bitches love chivalry . :P Actually, I don't feel that way at all, it just didn't seem like anyone was taking you up on the offer. Nice post, nicely stated, and if you're a Birgin I imagine your post event outlook on lif...

Re: Let's see a positive turnaround here.

Holy cow. I wasn't aware that my gender was up for debate. :| I am female, just for clarity. I'm well aware that the creature known as an incubus is male, but my name doesn't refer to the creature. Incubus is my favorite band, and "Pantomime" is one of my favorite songs by said band. Maybe a little ...

Re: Monkey Hut measuring suggestion

That sounds like a good idea. Thank you for posting. You said that you had not preformed a "test run" of the monkey hut before you got to the playa. Did you buy your PVC at home and travel with it, or did you buy it in Reno? I'm flying in, and therefore can't bring PVC pipe. I've got a sneaking susp...

Let's see a positive turnaround here.

I really don't understand all the complaining and carrying-on about this whole process. I'm still not sold on the lottery process, but I'm not about to spout some stupid idea like an Occupy BM scheme, especially when we haven't heard all of the details. I'm inclined to think that I will still be abl...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012

There is not much I can say that hasn't already been voiced by several in our Community but I'll attempt to do so in a constructive and respectful way. It goes without saying that BLM probably put A LOT of pressure on those charged with organizing Burning Man 2012 to either make significant changes...

Re: What size backpack to bring?

If you're looking for a hydration pack, you may consider packs that are made for runners. They're usually smaller and have pockets on the straps, so you can easily access certain things without taking off the pack itself. I have extensively researched this subject, and found two that I really liked....

Re: Tips for renting cars under age 25

i recall that most rental companies have a lower age requirement for moving truck/van rentals than for "cars" you may want to look in to this as an alternative... Thank you so much for this! I just did some research, and found that UHaul only restricts buyers under the age of 18. I would feel comfo...

Re: Tips for renting cars under age 25

That's true...my dad rents cars for company trips all the time. I could have him try to make the reservation online under his name and then add me as a driver. Don't know if that would work, but it's definitely worth a try. I understand any rental company's thought process when they restrict the ren...

Tips for renting cars under age 25

I'm looking at recommendations from ePlaya to find a good rental company, and I'm prepared to pay for a larger vehicle for the week. I'm wondering if anyone under the age of 25 might be able to recommend a car rental company that doesn't charge an exorbitant amount of money for age restrictions. I'l...

Re: Birgin here, signing in!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! We've been discussing it, and I think we're going to take a serious look at the Lamplighters Camp or Arctica for volunteer opportunities. =)

Birgin here, signing in!

Hello everyone! My name is Mary-Frances, and I am a Birgin! (This is said loudly and with much vigor, just fyi). I'm 22, and I'm from Houston. I'm a recent graduate from Texas Tech University, and I am currently awaiting my decision letter from the University of Houston's graduate program in Counsel...
