Thank you "Aunt" Flo for teaching me things that my family couldn't and most especially for instilling a love of jazz in me, it's been a source of comfort over the years.

. . . A friend of mine once did something vaguely similar; walked the playa as "Father Martini", wearing a bandolier of martini glasses and carrying a shaker, some ice, ingredients. Made martinis for people as they walked along, saying "Bless you my child" when he gave them away, and God knows what...

Hey piehole. Welcome to eplaya. :) But, moving from San Diego to South Carolina is definitely a big change! I hope that you're enjoying your time there though. But, it sounds like you'll have a blast with BASShenge, I saw what they're wanting to do and that looks like it'll be a lot of work, but als...

I thought Tin Man was pretty good. I didn't care for the network's subsequent re-imagining projects, but I thought that one was cleverly done. Tin Man was a good series, I really enjoyed it. But, I definitely agree about the other stuff they've been redoing. For instance, I had an extreme dislike o...

Re: Virgin East Bay Playa Chef

I like to borrow from all cuisines, but have strong tendencies towards French and Northern California. Alice Waters, Jacques Pepin, Tony Bourdain and James Peterson are all big influences. I'm the kind of chef who shops seasonally and locally, seeking out the best ingredients and then working hard ...

Ohhhh, you're using shock collars? Never mind then, that's humane. I was thinking of something a little better though...whenever you want them to return to camp, the collar would release the smell of bacon in the direction of camp. ...the closer they get to camp, the stronger the smell of bacon. Voi...

One of our neighboring camps in 2000 was "Isis Hippy" and they were from Mississippi and some of them were fire spinners. You wouldn't happen to know how to contact any of them? (It doesn't hurt to ask.) I haven't met anybody else from Mississippi that's been out there either, so that would be cool.

Re: 2nd year dilemma - seeking advice

i suggest a portable P.A. system and a recording of an electric can opener or a "pounce" kitty treat can being shaken on a continuous loop. Or, better yet, in addition to the P.A. system, you could fit all of the people with a GPS tracking device (not around the neck, though, that's just inhumane)....

@The CO I am extremely jealous of y'all! I wish that we had something like that here in Mississippi as I've been wanting to learn for years, but it's just not done here (at least that I can find).

So, everyone that can go to that should definitely go!
