My thoughts, coming from a tent-trailer person. In a tent, you sleep like crap, are cranky for much of the day, and dont have a pleasurable retreat to recharge. With an RV, you sleep good, but tend to enjot the comfort a little too much. It's all nice and AC inside, then you step outside and think, ...

I did a tent trailer last year and bought one for this year. Last year during the dust storm on sunday we loved it. We felt so safe inside when the wind and dust was ripping. Everyone actually took a nap. This year I bought a used one. SO I've taken the time to make sure it's ready. In the older ten...

I swear by the pre-cooked meal. It's so easy to do out on the playa. I like making taco meat, putting in a zip lock or vacume sealing, then freeze. I also made arroz con pollo which was excellent. It helps to portion out too. If it's meat, the pre-cooked will stay safer longer, plus you have a delic...

does your camp need a couch?

I have an old IKEA couch to donate. Black, seats 3, not very heavy, not tears or rips but faded a bunch. So you wont have to worry about thrashing it or anything.

I'm in Los Angeles, north hollywood to be exact.

FCUK!!!!!! The price of my tent trailer just doubled today. I took it too the guy that works on my boat to have the trailer lights fixed. He also hooked up the battery to the converter for me. But then he decided that the whole trailer needed to be rewired and spent 18 billable hours working on it. ...

So this weekend I go to pavements end by Clan Destino, good group of people, and try to rig up my battery, And I keep blowing the fuse on the inverter. Everytime I'd touch the negative aligator clip to the battery terminal, there'd be a spark and the fuse would blow. I went thru all 3 fuses it came ...

Okay, so now I gotta find how to hook the battery into the converter. The back is sealed up so I got to take a panel off. I did notice that it has a fuse box right next to the converter. It also has a switch that goes from shore/battery. The thing is that Last night the dome lights went out. So now ...

Burn out

I work 10 hour days (spend a lot of time on the e-playa though), come home and work on my Burning Man projects. Hardly sit down to eat, and go to bed. Wake up and do the same thing over again. I'm starting to get burnt out. All this work and I haven't used anything yet. I have planned on doing Pavem...

The converter is built into the camper, it came with it. What the plan was, since the camper was wired already through the converter (2 outlets), was to just plug the camper into the inverter (as though I was a a site w/ hookups), so I could use those outlets. Maybe run another extension cord off th...

GEEEZ. This is what I'm going with. A large deep cycle battery (12v) thats hooked to an inverter in wich I plug the trailer into to run power thru the converter. I bought a large solar panel to recharge the battery. Under $200 total. I'm not gonna have large draws off of the power so I should be fin...

Okay, so if I do a battery, it will power pretty much just my dome lights in the rig. But Will it run other things that I plug into the outlet? I have a Converter, do I need to get an inverter to go between the battery and the converter to get power from it? I'm thinking I might end up bringing a ch...

After all this, I might end up going with the generator. I figure it will cost only a little bit more than rigging the whole trailer with battery power that will last the week, plus I'll be able to plug other things in. It was turning into 2 batteries, welding a battery holding plate on the frame, m...

It probably is a converter. So basically the wiring is in a big loop?

For battery charging, would you hook the aligator clips to one battery to charge both, or do both need to be done seperately?

I like the ziplock bag idea. But you'll need a lens hole so your not taping bag. If you keep the camera in the plastic ziplock the whole time, cut out a whole for the lens to poke thru and use some camera tape to seal it off. use a bag thats big enough for the pop out screen if you have one. If not,...

How about as far as sun? I'd like to camp where the sun is on the door of the camper in the am so that the shade structure will keep the camper somewhat cool in the am, and in the afternoon the sun will be behind us giving us more shade.

I think it's safe to say though that everyone has pee'd on the playa at least once.

Come on, you know there was that when you thought you were gonna go in your pants (if you were wearing any) and just had to whip it out.
