Yay! An update on the ticket page! Well, kinda. It now says, "Information about Burning Man 2016 ticket sales will be posted in mid-January." So within a week or two hopefully.

Re: MONEY - a tricky subjsct

In such a scenario, I'd love to see some of the money go to creating Black Rock City Regional Transit. A mutant vehicle system of several busses that would be set up like a typical Regional Transit system in any other city. Have a few routes set up around the city so folks could wait at a bus stop a...

Re: Porta Potty Vent Blower??

I saw a group at the porta potties this year that would wait for some unsuspecting person to go inside. Then they would quickly setup a red carpet and velvet rope and have a reporter and a bunch of admiring, cheering fans waiting when they exited; and would interview them like they were on the red ...

Re: So, how dusty was it?

I've only been to five burns but this was definitely the dustiest I've experienced. I loved it. It was a different kind of burn for sure but we had great camp mates and amazing neighbors that we spent hours huddled up with under our shade structure during the dust storms. Lots of laughs and interest...

Technically the shaded areas on the map are the spots with DPW provided shade. It goes fast so be quick about it.

Re: We need a place to stay

Lettuce be cereal for a minute.... it's probably easiest to just show up and ask someone in an RV that's parked in a location you like. Without knowing where you want to camp, it'll be hard for someone in an RV to know if they'll be the right fit for you. Burning Man is all about gifting, but folks ...

Re: Are there any Crossfit style workouts on the playa?

Seems like every year there's a crossfit / WOD question. Pink Gym has everything you'd need to get a session in. I don't believe they organize official WOD's but you can get creative with their equipment. They have chin up bars, various free weights, etc... there are potential box jumps everywhere y...

Contribution sent. I've loved your past projects. The Wave was one of my favorite art pieces last year, I can't wait to see (and have a hand in burning down) the Sun Tower! Hope to chat with you on the playa again Wizzard. Thanks for bringing another great piece.

Re: Looking to join a camp near the 4-5 side

I like to think of myself as being pretty open minded, but I'm with the Captain on this one. That's a little weird. I brought my girlfriend to her first burn... and it took a few days for her to really 'get it' and become comfortable. No amount of ePlaya studying or Googling or YouTube-ing can reall...

The Indian tacos can add a half hour to your dive easy. Highly recommended as the "last supper" before the dust. ^THIS. There are some Indian taco stands and usually a bar-b-que truck as you move through Gerlach. Depending on your meal plan for the week, that last bit of hot & messy bar-b-qued meat...

I just read through this thread. Despite its brevity, it was a rollercoaster of emotion. I've always been fond of BloodBath & Beyond because it's one of my favorite camp names. Bummer to hear that it won't be (will be? may be?) at the burn this year. Slayer camp will happily rain blood down in Blood...

Especially your first time, you do need to stay for the man burn, not so much for the burn itself but because that's the absolute zenith, Black Rock City cranked up to 11. Every big mutant vehicle has its huge sound system going (and trust me, you probably haven't ever heard bass like you will comi...

Bring a cup with a handle for the gifted booze that will be coming your way. It will be pentiful. Gifted drugs may come your way but don't hold your breath. Law enforcement is no joke out there. Don't ask for it and don't expect people to offer it up. You will possibly befriend someone or a group wh...

Re: How loud is the inner Black Rock City?

Heat will likely be the bigger impediment to your ability to sleep. Ear plugs will be a huge help to block out noise if you’re a light sleeper… but there’s no plug to stop the morning heat if you don’t have a cool place to sleep once the sun rises.

I haven't used one, but my guess is they do better with dust and the insulation makes them cooler in the heat. The dark interior is probably nice for sleeping in daytime. This. Practically dust free (if you do it right), MUCH cooler in the heat of the day and warmer at night. They stay pretty dark ...

Be happy you weren't there for the Monday morning storm last year. Those thunder claps were the loudest fucking things I've ever heard in my life.
