Re: Likely temperature range for 2017?

Did it really get that cold last year? I thought it got chilly a few nights, but overall the temperatures were pretty moderate last year. At least, that is what I thought. I better revise what I have been saying. hehe. Last year had a few chilly nights. 2015 got much colder (I think it was 2015), I...

Re: Hexiyurt Questions

I retape ALL seams EVERY year. The bifilament tape loses its stickiness more than you may realize. It may hold up just fine but in my mind, the expense of a couple rolls of tape each year for my shelter is worth it.

Re: Cash Money

I am sure there are some "recreational substances" that cash would be needed for... maybe your short stint in jail when the undercover cop dressed as a panda bear supposedly selling cheap pills busts your dumb ass. Hey, maybe they'll even confiscate that cash too. This. If someone randomly strolls ...

Re: Any tips for a very, very basic bar

Echo Figjam's comment. My Heavy Metal Happy Hour bar top is just a folding table with a banner draped across the front. Put out some games to get people to come over (cornhole, etc), play music, be good at initiating and carrying friendly conversations. My only other tip would be that Bloody Mary's ...

Re: STEP progress--anyone got tickets yet?

This thread is very encouraging. Fortunately, I was able to get two tickets and a vehicle pass in the main sale... but it's still comforting to see that STEP actually works for people.

Question: Are all STEP tickets Will Call only?

I just took a gander and didn't see any ticket pictures posted on Instagram. That's probably a sign that very few (if any) folks have received their tickets. It usually takes about 3 seconds for them to get shared.

I got my ticket. After so many horror stories, I got mine, and will be fulfilling a long neglected dream to come home to Burning Man 2017. Double shot of Rum to celebrate. Now the chills kick in, and it is time to hunt for a cheap airfare. =D To all the burners that were not so lucky as me: Best lu...

Oh how I wish I could spare the dough for a presale ticket. Perhaps is the masochist in me... but I actually get a bit of joy out of the stress of general sale day. That's probably because I've always been lucky enough to get a ticket *knock on wood*. Hopefully I can keep that streak alive this year...

Disclosure: I didn't vote for either Trump or Hillary. Bernie was my guy. I was slightly happier that Trump won than I would've been if Hillary had won. My 401k and stock portfolio are thrilled about Trump's election for sure. I'm not worried about a Trump presidency on account of the economics of i...

Nah. Definitely a disgruntled Berner checking in but more so a disgruntled American checking in who doesn't want someone with Hillary's hunger for wealth and power anywhere near the top office in the country. Fuck me for wanting a president who puts the people first, right?

I've thought about that one way trip to Mars and for a long time I thought I would jump at the opportunity but have since decided that being one of the pioneers of that one way voyage simply wouldn't be worth it for me.
