The fact that an event is private does not, for example, change the 4th amendment rights of an individual. That is why LEOs walk around the event. If the event were private in a legal way the LEOs would have to be outside the gate. No, that's not why, Bungiti. I'm not sure what the acronym for LEO ...

Presenting "Burncast"

Burncast is now available online. What's a "burncast"? Well, it's the name of a podcast program that's all about Burning Man! Rising like a phoenix from the ashes of SaveBRC.org <http://www.savebrc.org> comes Burncast, produced by participants for participants about the art, culture, and community (...

Re: DaBomb Weighs In

You waived your right to privacy the minute you walked out of the door of your home. Anyone walking in public is subject to have their picture taken. If you disagree, stay indoors. For many, like myself, Burning Man is home. Didn't your greeter tell you? "Welcome home!" I for one don't want a telev...

Re: DaBomb Weighs In

They are aware of the situation, but as of yet have not responded to this issue. Did you bring this up at your meeting with them? At the time of our meeting...at the time we recorded the podcasts...none of us knew that footage of me would be used in the broadcast. Interestingly, Discovery took the ...

Re: DaBomb Weighs In

thank you for your perspective... shed a lot of light I'd like to add that an unauthorized use of my image was used in this show. In other words, they filmed me and used the footage without getting my consent. WTF? Andie told me in the podcast that all commercial media is contractually bound to hav...

DaBomb Weighs In

I was wondering if Chai and Co. would weigh in on what they thought of the finished product. I'm surprised they haven't yet. My apologies for the delay in responding to this earlier. I've actually been super busy putting together a podcast about media presence at Burning Man. Aside from learning to...

Is BMorg having an identity crisis?

Is BMorg having an identity crisis? The Burning Man Organization has been commonly abbreviated as "BMorg" for some time now. The term is concise and non-judgmental. It is easy to remember, type and speak. It clicks immediately with almost all that hear it. In my recollection, the term "BMorg" first...

I've heard from sources inside the LLC that the footage has been edited and shown to the organization. I'm unaware if the footage has been approved yet (The LLC must approve the final cut before it is aired). They must have approved the footage because an air-date has been set. Action Girl has prom...

Are you referencing Malcolm in the Middle? This is a satire about Burning Man, and least the Bmorg did not sell us out on that. Malcolm can get away with this the "one time fair use" clause as stipulated in US copyright laws. But the BMorg did sell us out to the Discovery Channel/New York Times. Her...

The average ratings need to be held up against the total market for that time period. For these numbers to make sense, we need to see both the RATING and the MARKET SHARE data. You see, ratings and viewership are relative to market share for that time period, which is the number I'd really like to s...
