Re: Vegans, vegetarians....fake meat eaters

Why are there so many fake meat products in the vegan/ vegetarian section of the grocery store? Why are non-meat eaters pretending to eat meat? I don't get it.... Eat some bacon or DON'T - Why FAKE it!?! If I read this correctly, you make no distinction on what you eat — you don't raise, slaughter,...

Have you ever noticed how reminiscing about your favorite moments at Burning Man always seem to sound like some kind of weird, fetishistic metaphor? What's your moment? — perhaps from your first year, perhaps another time. Quote yourself with something literal: Oh, to ride that magical gazebo for th...

Virgin Self, I've got nothing to say to you. Things worked out. Yeah, effectively: Virgin Self, I've got nothing to say to you. Things worked out. The toil and the tears ... the "not fitting in". Oh, it's going to be a glorious mess. So shh ... don't tell my Virgin Self. Otherwise, I wouldn't be wh...

Be basically prepared; don't try to be prepared for every thing you think of.

Also, at night: it's not so light that you can be seen without any illumination, but it's so bright that you need to be dazzling.

frontages on D and E? what you guys think? An acquaintance of mine who moved away used to camp with "Cut-through Camp" which had a tiny opening on two circumferential streets that led down a narrow hallway to a (small) public area in the middle. USPS (Postal) Mail to Black Rock City

I recall rumors that the Black Rock City Post Office (BRCPO) is an official U.S. Post Office, although I'm still skeptical of that designation. I also heard (and recently read ) that 89412 is a ZIP code created just for Burning Man, although the USPS says it's Gerlach. Regardless, it is possible to ...

Your price seems awful steep, but I guess the market decides. It is a good thing somebody bothers to have such parts made. Meh. If you want one, PM me and I'll just send you one: the price is mostly because I don't intend on making a business out of selling them. I could theoretically make more and...

When we turn in on, it pumps great for 10 or 15 seconds, but then slows down to a trickle by about 30 seconds. If we disconnect it for a second and reconnect, it starts up great again, then slows down again. Guess #1: It sounds like you're getting air in. Are you sure the pump is sunk deep enough s...

You'd think trains would be getting cheaper to try and draw people not more expensive. Kind of a catch 22 I guess, less people mean higher prices and lower prices mean more people. Actually, I think the problem is too many riders. Ridership keeps breaking records each year , and the current equipme...

I never noticed issues with Playa-foot, so last year I did an experiment and spent most of a day barefoot. And I had no issues. This isn't true for everyone, obviously, but it may be an option. I had a higher level of confidence because I've been running barefoot for about 5 years (and by that, I me...

Being cheap and into reuse, years ago I went around my neighborhood each week and picked up juice bottles from recycle bins. The Land Yacht has a horrendous, epic oil leak. I mean really bad. It might be something simple, but oil leaks almost never are. Beware, though, that given the immediate hostility in this group, that there are quite a few people who will go apeshit if you show up on the Playa with feathers — even if you did due diligence and made sure they were not going to become MOOP. Nonetheless, that will be an experience unto itself.

I thought I'd add that electrical wire seems pretty strong but it will break if it's under tension, especially tension that varies. In other words, don't count on wire surviving if it gets tugged regularly. Solid wire can be bent a dozen times before it breaks. Stranded wire can be bent a lot more. ...
