Re: Will it happen?

Rumor has it that the delay is due to the ongoing battle between BMorg and the Satan-worshiping Masonic Illuminati shape-shifting UFOs.

Re: "One Wish Granted" in center camp

This was a couple, a guy and a girl. I think her name was Ashley, but I have a terrible memory for names.

They had a cardboard sign that said "One wish granted." I think they said they were from the Bay Area.

Re: Modular 12v Power system - Easy enough for newbs

One more tip that might help the uneducated: Before I started building my power system (which, granted, is still pretty simple), I didn't really understand how amps worked. I'd read the "water-pipes = current" metaphor a million times, but the one thing that was never made clear is this: Your device...

Modular 12v Power system - Easy enough for newbs

Hey guys- I just wanted to share the power system that I rigged up over the last burn so that maybe others can learn from/improve/steal the idea without credit. :) I used: a 12v Costco Deep Cycle Marine Battery a 5 amp fuse (for safety) ( Amazon Link ) an array of car cigarette lighter adapters. ( A...

Lost: Hemp necklace with red glass eye pendant

Hey guys-

At the temple burn, I lost a hemp necklace with a red glass eye pendant on it. If anyone found it, I'd love to get it back.

Cheers,
Jeremy

Re: Freemasons on the Playa?

It's not like Masonry is some big secret ... if you want to become a Mason, all you need to do is ask someone who is one. They need members BADLY! To have a real lodge, you need to get Grand Lodge approval. So, a BRC lodge is doubtful. If a chartered Nevada lodge from the Grand Lodge of Nevada brou...

Re: Freemasons on the Playa?

If there were freemasons on the playa, I can't imagine that they'd post about it publicly or respond to such open inquiries. But you never know... Well, Masonic buildings in every city are labeled and listed in phone books, and a lot of Freemasons you meet are wearing some sort of ring or method of...

Freemasons on the Playa?

I'm expecting the usual snark and conspiracy theories that I usually get, but I'll take a deep breath and post this anyway:

Are there Freemason camps in BRC? Perhaps a lodge?

If BRC can have churches and chapels, it makes sense that there could be a Masonic lodge as well...

Rosh Chodesh would be pretty special, especially with a) the feminine aspect, and b) the night aspect. Since so much happens after dark on the playa (it's almost a different world), a service to greet the new moon would be amazing. Rosh Chodesh of Elul is on the evening of August 26- the first nigh...

Re: Morphsuits on the playa?

Your burn is your own. Not all Halloween costumes translate to BM. I enjoy meeting and talking to strangers at the event. So I am not a fan of costumes that significantly obscure the face (except temporarily during dust storms...). If you are in an area with regionals or groups of burners, you can ...

Re: HexaYurts

I had a question when building my hexayurt, "What is the width and length of the finished Hexayurt?", so I wrote a quick program to calculate this: http://roadkillhaiku.x10.mx/bm/ It calculates the shortest dimension of the hexagon, not the longest (which would be double the length of your walls). I...

Morphsuits on the playa?

How common are Morphsuits out there?

I've got one that I was thinking of building a costume around, but if they're all over the place, I'll do something different.

Also, anyone who has one, any tips about wearing it at the burn?

That panel is just enough to run the pump, and then only if kept in total sunlight. I don't bring a genny to the playa. :? Figjam, since you're the expert on these, what do you use to run your fan? In the other thread, it appeared to be a 12v battery. What do you use to charge it? What kind of pane...

I'm trying to do the same thing: build a "Figjam cooler" without need for a generator. I bought this pump: http://www.harborfreight.com/solar-powered-fountain-pump-66093.html This might be a stupid question, but do you think that the solar panel that runs the pump would be beefy enough to handle the...
