Re: New burners: Being in a camp / getting involved

Last year I was part of what you might call a "Strangers Camp" Most of us were virgins. This year we have placement. Come and get a bacon tamale or an otterpopperita at Fish Out Of Water @ 5:00 & Freak Show.

Re: Ideal Bike-towed bar cart

I'm thinking, dunes and all, you might want to invest in a fat-tired bike. If you hit loose playa or a dune with a typical bike (like in your picture) while towing that cart, you're gonna end up with a serious pain in the ass, literally.

Re: Travel Log

You could also check in with us Philly Phreaks; we're departing on the 21st as well. I was planning on transporting some east coast beer, but I'm not a brewer so it would all be commercial. Might have room for a keg. Hey wow! Thanks. Philly would be a hell of a lot easier to get to. It's a 5 gallon...

Re: how does a regular tent hold up at Burning Man?

I'm sad to say that technology has not improved tents over the decades. Quite the contrary, they got allot worse. Some of the highly regarded playa worthy tents, the Kodiak and Springbar, are more or less still built with tech from the 1950s. The improvement tents have made over the decades is that...

That was a very interesting read. It leads to me believe that the future of the burn may be in jeopardy. After all, HOW DARE people be having a good time before the gates open and after they complete their early entry tasks. I mean doesn't everyone hit the playa with a detailed Gantt Chart of the as...

Any recommendations on a budget generator to power a window unit and whatever else may be needed? I am not sure what is playa tested or if there was a generator thread.
