Re: ID for bar camps

I got carded several times and while I obviously look WAY older than 50, I was refused a few times. I understand why they do it though. Not a big deal, there are thousands of bars out there. Most people had a color copy of their ID taped around their cup and that was sufficient. Boom! That's what I...

Logistically this might suck.... Buuuuuuut.

ID for bar camps

So it is all over this forum and a ton of other places that you ABSOLUTELY NEED AN ID to be served alcohol at camps. Not a big deal... But since I am a button pusher, I gotta ask. How strict are they on this? We are both clearly over 21. It is rare I even get carded at bars anymore because my beard ...

Re: Hexayurt with sleeping wings

Last year I camped near a group that brought a hexyurt with 4 or 5 sleeping wings, made out of 1" r-max. They built it extremely well and were very smart with their anchors and I thought it felt as solid as any other shade/sleeping structure I saw out there. They actually told me to try and break i...

Re: Hexayurt with sleeping wings

1 swamp cooler should be enough, as long as you get the correct fan model and pump as specified in Figjam's excellent thread. My campmates who used different fans did not have the coldness my "official" Figjam spec'd model. And the hexayurt has to have a vent for the swamp cooler to function proper...

Re: Hexayurt with sleeping wings

Just chiming in to agree that 1/2" board is too weak. One vertical face could be experiencing over a ton of wind load at times. I built a standard H12 hexayurt using 2" side walls and 1-1/2" roof panels, and still felt like I needed to be careful with it during taping and construction. I'd be afrai...

Re: Tilt My Kilt

So, I found a utilikilt while out thrift shopping for $14 and couldn't help myself, it was my exact size and was actually really comfortable when I tried it on. My only question now is how is this thing supposed to be worn? I spun it around and around and it seemed to work no matter which way it wa...

Skirts are way cheaper. Just saying. Oh I will have a tutu and skirt for sure... The kilt thing is Something I've always wanted to do. Re: Tilt My Kilt

I was thinking of adding el-wire under my kilt so it would be lit up at night. Light up my under frame kinda like a show car. Maybe purple lights and wear florescent colored socks. Ya I was gonna add some eyelets in the fabric for easy addition of el wire. I feel like a kilt would be really cold at...

Re: Tilt My Kilt

I have a black utilikilt myself, and recently bought a pair of kilts from from http://stumptownkilts.com as well. The utilikilt is nice, and definitely looks a little more formal, but I think the two new ones are the ones I'm going to prefer for everyday use on the playa. That pocket/utility strap ...

Re:

Been getting interested in the Cave Man Diet. Has anyone tried this? Vegetables and fruits, raw or steamed, small animals, baked or roasted, an occasional large animal (when shared with tribe members), few grains, lots of nuts, no sugar, but some honey. Just what was on the menu 100,000 years back!...
