Web Cam update ....
2 bike riders pedalling through down-town gerlach heading east, 8/12/05, 1:49PM.

where are they going, I wonder? Are they on vacation, locals? Do they know burning man is coming or are they innocent by-standers? We will never know.

Doh! Seeing as we are black-rock animal research farm, I guess chemically altered chicken will work for us! We'll just call it "Kentucky fried chicken-ish" anyhow, all the stories about altered chicken at KFC are false, check out .. http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/kfc.asp :) Guy1: By the way, did...

I agree on the mooping factor. I bought a roll of the astro-turf and it has mooped all over me. I am going to be taping the edges to hopefully de-moopify this.

1. What do you pay as a participant of your theme camp? Is this a flat tax or is there a sliding scale? $120/person flat 2. Does this include meals as part of a shared kitchen? Can someone opt out of meals and get a discount? We have two meals brought in to the playa from the real world on Wed and T...

Oh, this won't be stage, this will be reality ... just like on tv. We will have a mascot in a chicken suit, celbrity judges, a likeable and un-threatening host, and we expect to get the dance done in only 10-20 takes. All perfectly natural .... Hah! but really, all it takes is a few special down on ...

Still looking to share in genie superlift for dome

Hey guys! Still wondering if anyone is interested in sharing the expense for this lift.

The lift is very useful for building large domes. It is compact and breaks down in to a small and very portable shape so it is easily removed from the dome when the assembly is complete.

Let me know!

Do the Chicken Dance at BlackRock Animal Research Farm

We are hoping to organize the biggest ever chicken dance on the playa this year at the Blackrock Animal Research Farm (B.A.R.F.). Come by and say hi and participate in our animal reprogramming experimentation from 5-7 (happy hour) after which time we will evaluate the long term effects of our progra...

Our camp has been renting a storage space in Empire at Empire Storage for 3 years now. Their large unit (10ft x 24ft as I recall) rents for $50/month for a total of $600/year. (they have smaller units for less cost). We rent our truck out of Reno from Budget Truck Rental. U-Haul in Reno does not ren...

We have been storing our stuff at Empire Storage for 3 years now and never had a problem. we are paying $60/month for the larger space. The storage area is right next to the empire store and is kept locked. You go to the store first to pick up the key to the gate and then you can get in to your stor...

Anyone want to share lift expense for top down construction

Dome builders! We have been building a 32' dome each year for the last 5 years and have discovered that top down construction is the only way to go for a steel conduit dome of this size. As a result, each year we rent a Genie Superlift (http://www.genielift.com/ml-series/ml-1-5.asp) to hoist our dom...

A-Frame

Using the lift makes dome building SOO much easier! The lift is placed at the center of the dome and the dome is built around it. This particular lift is designed to fold down in to a very compact size so you can roll it right out the door when you are done! very simple! just a little expensive.

Dome Builders! Need a lift (for top down dome building)

Hello fellow dome builders. We have been building our 32' dome on the playa for the last 5 years. During that time we have discovered that it is FAR easier to build this dome from the top down. In order to do that, we rent a Genie Superlift (SLC-24) and take it to the playa. www.genie-lift.com/index...

Genie Super Lift

Each year, we rent a Genie SLC-24 to assemble our dome (http://www.toolfetch.com/tools/SLC-24.html). This is rated only for 650lbs, but it might work out for you. If this is something you are looking for would you be interested in sharing some of the rental costs?
