The Black Hole is the GP&E (Gate Perimeter and Exodus) Bar - Not DPW
Given this, the least you could have done was complain about gate road while you were there.

We had no run-ins or saw run-ins with LEO this year. Was told by ratty I looked way too clean cut to be bothered by them! Sorry to hear about some of these stories.

Re: Elliot's Naked Bicycle Service, Piano Bar, & Much More 2017

I'll have more of this story later, but I was reliant on your DIY area this year for not one but two botttom bracket overhauls. (One of which I performed in the dark on Friday night!) I used a total of three bottom bracket bearings, which I will gift in the future. Thank you for having these! I also...

I would actually happily make this Deal with the dust devil. Playa was the best this year.

I too noticed this. We only lost one hat this year and did not find any items. I think the usergroup just needs to be updated.

Re: cooling your tent or van

I hate to say it but my swamp cooler was a terrible failure this year. It was a huge mistake to try and change my design in the last week to the newer "leave a gap" method. I expressed my frustration some about the variant designs and mixed information that adorns this thread now prior to the burn. ...

Indeed, the open playa was unbelievably solid and excellent to ride on. The best I've encountered. It was, at times, desperately hot during the day. I'm glad to read other people struggled with it, because I know we did too. However, this led to some very, very nice nights. Where you could be out in...

Re: Next Directions for Burning Man

Fences are a good start. No burns without inner, and possibly outer perimeter fences. I don't want this, but it is hard to see it as anything but now mandatory. Probably no dancing in the ashes afterward. No more pig roasts at the feet of the man. I wonder if last year will be the final year people ...

Re: cooling your tent or van

Managed to put hands on some chicken wire and after some clipping and scratched ankles ended up with this: It seems like it is going to work. I did not remove any dura cool so, it is a bit more bunched up. However the wire now lifts the cooling pad much closer to the lid, holds it in from the edges ...

Okay I'll look at getting a spacer under it and maybe a chicken wire girdle.

I am ok with designs changing but I think it might be good if eplaya had a wiki, and then the thread would be great for questions and discussion.

Re: cooling your tent or van

FigJam's does touch the walls. Go to this page , in this thread, scroll down about 2/3 of the way to my pics. You will need to have a foam spacer, (pool noodle maybe) around the media tub to hold its shape. An inch or so is enough. Okay then my pads won't go to the top either. They are a bit too sh...

...Ya they kind of do I wonder if they are too long in material Yup. Need to NOT be touching the sides of the bucket. This is a crucial aspect of the bucket design. Touching the sides and possibly some water leaking out the holes is the least issue. The big issue is This all makes sense. And I have...

Re: cooling your tent or van

Just use the hair drier. It's not like your holes will melt and seal up. Okay. I prefer the two-bucket method where there is a top bucket with the filter and a hole in the bottom that drains into the lower bucket. The lower bucket is a reservoir that pumps into the top bucket. Then you can just use...

As I mentioned, revisiting my swamp cooler for its 3rd burn, replacing the water loop, pump and going to a stronger fan system. Testing my updated water loop, I'm using the originally intended vinyl tubing and getting an even spread except for two holes near one side. http://i.imgur.com/qdMHwIa.jpg ...

Re: Attaching fairy lights to bike

Those things are rugged. Great for bike tubing. I don't think you need to wrap the actual wire in tape. The failure point for these is actually at the battery pack connection. The last 6 inches leading up to the battery pack and on/off switch is not lit. Typically these hang loose, which leads to th...
