Re: Attending Burning Man is NOT a right.

In this country, we have the unalienable right of "pursuit of happiness", which includes the right to acquire and enjoy property..in this case..a ticket, beyond all the restrictions, behind that ticket. I'm not sure that we do. That's in the Declaration of Independence, which, while a founding docu...

Re: Stapled Tickets.....?... REALLY ?

They've always been stapled. Relax. It's not a damn Van Gogh.
It's not $420 in art. It's a copy, mass-reproduced 60,000 times. It's a $420 ticket.

You want real art? Buy the original form the artist.

Fucking trolls...

Re: Attending Burning Man is NOT a right.

No, but we have a RIGHT to pursue that happiness. The whole first come first served debate, is over complication of a simple and fair system. we have a right to pursue. getting in the ticket line is the pursuit. we don't have a right to the result of the pursuit. the ticket is the result of the pur...

Yeah, but no time with everything else going on. It's damn comfy. Least I'll get to play around on it for 2 weeks during setup before the GF arrives. ;)

I may have missed a post. What's this deli counter for?

Re: Names on tickets will not magically increase tickets!

I don't think that's the narrative that played out this year. In-ticketing has always had problems (database problems I believe, not hardware), but even last year it only affected the initial surge of people signing up. People promptly forgot about it after the first week, and it wasn't an issue af...

Re: Names on tickets will not magically increase tickets!

Again, the mythical "Scalper". Explain what was wrong with the old system other than inticketing failing over and over to have a stable server? You want to stop scalpers? Don't buy from them. Simple. Until someone can present some hard numbers showing that the "scalpers" are eating up all the ticke...

Coming along nicely. First rough testing showed the bits holding the wheels were too weak and the attachment points on the rear pivot arm (eye screws) bent, thus the new full forks for the rear wheels and the 3/16" flat bar rear steering attachment points. Also mounted the control rods higher for mo...

Li batteries must balance the cells or else bad shit happens. I suspect there is a circuit built into the battery to allow it to be a drop in place replacement of a lead acid.

Re: Names on tickets will not magically increase tickets!

Gone are the days of getting in "line" and buying your ticket. The demand is greater than available tickets. The lottery certainly did not turn out as Burning Man LLC expected. I have no idea what the next attempt will be. Non-transferable tickets with photographs would put a stop to the gaming of ...

The lottery was not needed in the first place. Stop trying to fix was was broken to begin with and scrap the damn thing. I think the lottery is dead. It also prevented directed buy-ups. As much as I think the scalpers were an overblown boogieman (especially right after the 2011 sell-out), it's hard to gauge how things would've panned out in a first-come-first-served system this year. Maybe we can revert back this coming year now that shit has be...

Re: HexaYurts

You should tap the tarp up the *inside* walls of the yurt, otherwise any rain that hit the outside walls would run down and into your yurt (unless you completely taped it I suppose). :)
Plus you don't want to cover that nice shiny reflective outside that is bouncing the sun away from you. ;)
