Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012

I only read page 1 of 22 so someone else may have already mentioned this, last year one person requested tickets for four people, this year all four people will request 4 tickets each, so instead of removing four tickets from the 50,000 available they could end up removing 16 tickets, 12 tickets th...

Re: Why the lotto helps scalpers.

Okay, I get the logic behind your argument. There can be no logic to an argument made on pure speculation- The LLC hasn't announced how the lottery will work yet. Everything you are hearing (like the above) is based on the authors assumptions about the form it will take, not reality. Once they rele...

@capjbadger - Pah. How about waiting until you've actually got the details of the plan before passing judgment on it? It could totally suck. But it might work. What part of repeated posts of "Wait for the details" wasn't clear? The part that is already clear and a pile of crap is the replacem...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012

Way too complicated. Listen, ticket sales is not some new phenomenon. Promoters have been selling event tickets for a long time, at numbers far larger, with much greater demand, than burning man. Why should anyone want to try and reinvent the wheel here? Just hire a ticket service that has the abil...

Re: New Burningman Ticket Process - 2012

Now, as insurance, I'm going to ask x amount of friends to join the lottery as well, knowing that I can always sell any additional tickets that were won using this approach. You're just as good as the scalpers. This totally voids the lottery system. Good job on wrecking the new system before it eve...

I don't think they are "new" in the sense you're talking about. I think they are REMSA under a different name. Cannot confirm. Nope... REMSA - Reno Emergency Medical Services Association. No longer our medical service provider. HGH – Humboldt General Hospital. Our medical services provider. 'Course...

Re: Post stupid questions here

One can assume that the side of the pentagon that is the exclusion area went from about ~1.4 miles to ~1.8 miles, assuming that all 5 sides were fully fenced (with a small gap for the Gate).

1.4 x 5= 7
1.8 x 5=9

Re: Are bikes with motors still considered bikes?

Electric bikes are allowed. As per NRS 482.0287 “Electric bicycle” means a device upon which a person may ride, having two or three wheels, or every such device generally recognized as a bicycle that has fully operable pedals and is propelled by a small electric engine which produces not more than ...

It's a little hazy as to how far away one has to be from the driver, as obviously passengers drink on art cars all the time. If I were a vehicle driver I'd design my compartment as physically separate as possible from the passengers so there would be no confusion. I don't think most LEOs want to fl...

Copied over from the starplate thread... What you are building (forgive me if you already know all this ;) ) is an Icosahedron (minus the bottom). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icosahedron The nice thing is to cover the sides, you don't have to cut out a bunch of triangles. The "Tilt out/Point up" an...
