Re: DPW looking for people to come get some bikes.

I had two bikes dumped in my camp. One from a lady who was looking for her husband. We gave her some water, chatted for a bit and then her husband arrived. They walked off arm in arm. I asked if she forgot about her bike she road up on. "No", she said, you can have it...............??????????? WT???...

Re: Water Proven Unnecessary at Burning Man

My body just doesn't need as much water as the average human I guess. I maybe drink a gallon a day out there, plus a few beers and a Mt Dew or two. I brought back five gallons of water this year and I brought out less than last year.

Re: eBikes and Burners who Ride them

I had my electric both years. For me, a person who only rides at BM, it is a life saver. I found it on CL for a steal. The original battery was long gone and the ones they were using were toast. But once I had new batts and built a new harness, it ran fine. So I cleaned it all up. Cleaned and repack...

This is my question too. What is it you are looking for that the existing portos do not provide besides their condition?

Agreed, Gate road was like a bombed out runway. 2-3mph most of the way out at 7pm Mon. Through a white out no less. :) Two stops on the pavement, slow (10-20mph) the rest of the way to Gerlach. Arrived in Fallon at 10pm for a nights sleep before my 12hr final leg......

Re: Likely temperature range for 2017?

It has it. Could have held 75'F all week. But I'm in/out so much it makes no sense to run it. Camp2 had visitors all day, every day this year so I was in/out much more than last year. Its a mancave, so it can take the dusting it gets. It's emptied now waiting for its bath this weekend. LOL I'm going...

Re: Likely temperature range for 2017?

I had 105'F inside the RMC on Sat. (26) afternoon. Seen it again later in the week but 101-103'F in the RMC was common in the afternoon all week. I had the vent fans running most of the time as I am in and out frequently. So the RMC had air flow when the temps were noted. Maybe JustJoe can post the ...

My Grey Water Evap worked like a champ. I took a shower every day, two a couple of times. Used approx 70gals of water from the RMC all week and evaped it all. I never took a temp reading but the air leaving the evap was well below body temp when 105'F at the time. IMAG2066a.jpg I did fail on my genn...

Yea, that media is way to porous. You would be better cutting up a pleated filter, tape up the edges and tape in place. Allergy rated filters catch the most I believe.

Re: cooling your tent or van

Anything under the media to hold it up would work. It doesn't need to be round like the media tube. Don't run the water level below the bottom of the pad. Air will bypass.

A chicken wire cage will also hold it up as ARS9754 stated.

Design is the same, just some small application tweaks...

FigJam's does touch the walls. Go to this page, in this thread, scroll down about 2/3 of the way to my pics. You will need to have a foam spacer, (pool noodle maybe) around the media tub to hold its shape. An inch or so is enough.

Finished up some pins and medals made of small gears for the Steam Punk hat.
Soldered up a harness for battery voltage monitoring on the bike.
Fabbed an installed a 90 degree steering limiter on the bike. Keeps from stressing the cables when parked.

"If your generator produces 12V DC it is an option to connect all on one extension cord." If you tap off of the 12VDC ports on the genny be aware they may not be 'regulated'. (Hondas are not) What this means s the voltage can go above or below 12VDC, sometimes by a lot. There are links to all the p...

Completely washed the under side of the truck. All clean and dry, not that it was a greasy mess anyway. But now I can quickly find a leak if one should arise on the road. Truck is lubed, prepped, and gone over. The rebuilt transfer case is working as it should. I also changed a speedo 'stepper motor...
