Ashes

Have to agree, the ashes of a friend in a blue stone were pretty cool. My favorite gift was Foot in a Bucket camp. It was located in Gigsville and was done as a tribute to Half Dome because he used to give out footcare kits and sometimes washed peoples' feet. Not only was the shade structure a dazzl...

Hmm, have thought about this but haven't tried it yet. :) Let's see, how would it be to have my feet get even more swollen and have to pee all of the time? I've also heard that being pregnant during the hot summer months pretty much blows. Morning sickness on the playa could be fun. Remember leave n...

Just the facts please

One point of correction, besides that Gigsville is a village of camps not a camp , is that all Gigs camps on the Esplanade were interactive. Temple of Atonement, Human Space Invaders and Shambhala Rodeo were the only ones directly on the Esplanade. Other parts of Gigs were set further back to be buf...

Hee hee. Of course there's some geek out there that will remind that you said that, the next time that you say something remotely unpolite *here.*

Brainless Bride

Forgot: My vows. (Well the notes I had written up. Came up with something while I was getting dressed for the ceremony.) The veil headband. (Used the cording from someone's CA Rangers hat to keep the veil on.) Guestbook. (Was packed away with the dinner for the evening. I forgot about it and no one ...

Best way to get in quickly is to be polite and co-operate. This disturbs me in context with burningman somehow... Well one can be radically self-expressive and hold up a long line of cars that's in danger of reaching the highway. Though the 1st Amendment usually only protects the right of sel...

Searching Small Boxes

In regards to making people completely unload a vehicle or an overly thorough search, I believe the Gate staff does that either when a vehicle has been involved previously or suspected of being involved with transporting illegal entrants. And occasionally searchers do it when the ticketholders are p...

Please be sure someone follows up on the investigation. While countless rape evidence kits are collected, not all get the DNA tests completed. I once heard a report on some astondingly high number of kits sitting in a NYPD evidence room without getting the test completed. Something about saving the ...

Re: SURPRISED

i also want to point out that there are people out there who just LOVE Burning Man and desperately want to be part of it but don't have the money. the cost of a ticket can be prohibitive. i came with a stowaway (who got caught), do you want to crucify me? he was not a bad person, but a good kind de...

Hey I recognize that dude ;)

Well, darling, have to admit that getting married and branded by Fakir and Cleo was a bit unusual, as well as having a Santa Parade go by while we were taking some photos outdoors. Climbing the pyramid drunk and going for a planeride the next morning just added to the surrealness of our union.

The Joy of Gatekeeping

Wish I had a hunk of brie to go with all the whining. I happened to get a first row view of what the Gate does. I think most of us understand the reasons why stowaways endanger our event. The Gate staff are simply doing a job mandated by the BMorg. Almost every person on staff is a volunteer. ...
