Try Twin City Surplus in Reno. They have carried the 55 gal. barrels and other sizes as well. Have been very burner friendly for many years.

Save Mart grocery stores have carried them as well.

Yes, this. Don't hesitate to seek help. Not asking when you need it is like denying people the opportunity to participate in gifting.

Re: Playa Illness and Injury

I don't think I will ever again hesitate to buy the Careflight medivac insurance. It's inexpensive, especially considering the cost without it. Would have used it last year instead of driving my hubby to the ER in Reno. That was one of the longest drives in my life. His too, no doubt.

I was at a garage sale trying to explain TTITD to 2 ladies with an open mind and a guy that had it all wrong. I finally gave up and went to the liquor store. 6 pk Blue Moon, 6 pk. Lagunitas, bag of ice for cooler. Here. A gift. This is burning Man. Maybe they got it. Maybe not. This is how BM chang...

Re: No Guns!

I first became aware of this rule many years ago when a member of my camp wore a sword that was not real but a part of a costume on the playa. He was followed until the BLM decided they had enough people to forcibly take in case he decided to resist, then stopped him to relieve him of it, despite th...

I'll bet very similar if not identical. Same with Derma Bond used for gluing skin together after lacerations or cuts.

Re: Playa Hands - Tips to treat (or avoid) playa hands

I've found myself using Liquid Gloves quite a bit this summer for digging in the dirt. It just occurred to me that this might quite helpful in avoiding playa hands and feet. Anyone ever tried it out there? I think would be useful but it is water-soluble so washes off with sweat or every hand wash. ...

Re: Playa Hands - Tips to treat (or avoid) playa hands

Bag Balm! I learned this trick from AntiM and it is a huge winner. Use Bag Balm and cover with gloves as often as you can. Last year I also started using a liquid skin product called New Skin and it is the best new thing I've brought to the playa in years. It's a lot like super glue and you can get ...

Just a curiosity question - the 2014 BRC City map shows the area that includes the corner of 5:45 and I as not reserved for theme camps but is open camping. Same with the corner of 5:45 and H on the side of the street away from the man. Where are you guys placed? We are usually camped in the general...

Fossa - I had a very similar experience last year. Re: Is it too late to get married at burning man 2014?

Check the weddings thread and contact them for the laws in Nevada. The officiant must be registered in Nevada or have special permission to perform a specific wedding there. Then, you need to get a license at the County (is in Lovelock). I have performed several weddings on the playa and since I'm f...

Re: Does this look secure?

Be sure that you stop to do a strap check after about 20 miles. Always a good plan even when pulling a trailer or have a load on a truck or car. Also, let some air out of the tires before you go over any high-altitude areas such as Donner Pass.
