The mini Man project

Post by Romeo_Freakenstine » Thu Feb 22, 2007 11:52 pm

I’ve been working on an idea to build a scale model of burning on the playa this year.
I want to invite people to bring scale art insulation that can be place, for viewing or burnt on Thursday or Friday.
People come up with great ideas for art insulations all the time but don’t have the time or money to build and or get there work to the playa.

So why not give them the chance to express them selves but on a small scale.
I was even thinking of asking people if they wanted to bring scale RC art cars,(We could build a race track and race art cars or make a mini soccer field and play art cat soccer. For those with a more destructive side maybe demolition art car???
I’ll be setting up the scale model in front of videogasm on the playa.
We could set aside two nights to do the burns one for the man,(Or men depending on how many people bring) and one for the art instillations.
If you like to help contact me at [email protected]

What scale? 1:1? One inch? That's standard dollhouse scale. I have a one inch scale travel trailer kit, but I certainly wouldn't burn it. Waaay too much work goes into these miniatures. I also have 1:144 scale houses which fit in the palm of my hand; one is even an empty burner art gallery. Empty, because all the art has gone to the playa. Keep me informed, I may be able to toss in something.

Aren't the APOKILIPTIKA folks doing a mini-burner camp in 2007? I know that they've been doing postings of mini-burners.

Hey, maybe that is how I can do my school bus conversion on my meager budget! Now, where can I get a model school bus...? I haven't been looking for model vehicles for some time now. :? :D

I have a one inch scale cooler .... Genius and I have toyed with the idea of a scale camp for a couple years now. I do knockout dollhouse miniatures and roomboxes when I'm motivated.

That sounds like a lot of fun!

Did anyone else see the mini diarama set up by the jots last year? All superheroes and freaks waiting in tiny lines to get into the tiny jots. Pretty cool.

We are thinking 1/2 inch to a foot scale.
but anything will do.
We just had a request form someone if they could to a Belgian waffle like sculpture out of shish kabob scures.
We'd love to place your art on out mini playa.
We are also trying to find as much of the orange plastick bags the fruit comes in to creat a mini vertion of the primitor fence.
The art that is placed dose not have to be burnt but we were thinking if peopel wanted to ctreat things to burn they could.
Romeo.

I'm beginning to get jelous. I'm wanting to install "Fishy's Scaleless Camp" feature Out of Scale Mineatures. As I discovered Gaspar, Gaspar (Gaspar der Grosse is twice the size of Gaspar der Kleine) and Nunzilla in a 3 for 1 box at the flea market the other week, I'm thinking "Creche, Postmodern." I already have a donkey...

I thought the same thing at first too. How is Ume coming along? I can't wait to see that thing in action. Any chance of a battle between the monkey and dianes wolf?
