You should really say more about yourself. What you do, like, expect to give to a camp and expect to get from a camp.

ok yea. im 19/m/ga i am alightly mechanically inclined sorry bad speller. i drive a ford explorer and am capable of carrying a lot of water. a hammer in my hand is like a pencil in yours. the reason i am going to burning man is to vent. where i live if you try to act weird a little bit you get labeled as a faget and i just want to let out all my coukyness. i love to party. i am comfortable with myself and may or maynot get naked at random times. im good with geomotry and i am trying to put a team together but like nonone in this town knows what burning man is. i am a hard worker and like magiver resourceful. email me if you have any questions.

^ Well I'm not going to e-mail. An active discussion here is a better way for you to find a camp that suits you.

Since you're a first timer you may have no idea what to expect. Have you read the survival guide on burningman.com?

What do you expect in a camp? Are you looking for things to put together on the playa? Share meals? People of like minds? People your age? You say you like to party, does that mean gut drunk every night/day? Stoned? Dance? Other things? Do you have any sort of webpage about you?

Really you do not need a camp to go to burningman. You should make sure that you have everything you need, then, if you embrace the event, we're all family. Some of us may be like your crazy Uncle Charles who's always drunk and trying to bum cigarettes, or Cousin Sue who you might have to keep an eye on or something will go missing, but mostly just good family. So maybe some camp starving for labor might ask you to join, but more likely you'll find a camp that suits you by talking with people on here or similar boards and going to local events. This summer there is one in North Carolina that I'll be at unless my friend heads out this way for the summer.

You can also contact your regionals and see who's in your area and what's happening. You may be pleasantly surprised.

ah shoot, there used to be. You can also post down in regionals and events here on eplaya and see if anyone responds. You know, hi, looking for Georgia burners kinda thing.

Hey, if my friends from Wyoming can pull off a small regional, you can begin too. Regionals have to start somewhere, maybe not this year, but maybe next. after you've been to BRC and seen what's up. Who knows? Maybe the Georgia regional could start with you.

You are a newbie, for sure. AntiM is right, start a regional yourself! And rather than trying to find a camp, why not try and band together like-minded people and start your own? My first year I never dreamed of starting a camp; I was with five friends and we did our own thing. From there our camp has grown to one of the more popular camps in BRC. Maybe it's time we re-examine the idea of a "do-ocracy": doing things yourself rather than expecting them to be handed to you. Of course, that's the inherant problem with working with liberals rather than those who can manage on their own, you somehow expect things to be done for you. Sorry people, got off on a tangent. My bad. I'll try to behave.

Come to the boonies and try to organize anyone!
I can't even get existing burners to do anything.
Transformus sells out so most people can't go anyway.
I've never managed to get a ticket.

I'm in the southeast too, for now.
I'll be doing a project if you want to join in.

Last yr I was a Birgin, I jumped into a 1st yr theme camp. It was fantastic, but the main person cant go this yr, so we picked up the pack, and designed a new Theme Camp.

As a former Atlantan, I think it's incredibly lame that there is no Georgia Regional Contact. That's a huge city filled with a fairly vibrant arts and music scene...it's also a mecca for everyone living in the surrounding hinterlands.

Hey, If that's non-euclidean you could always go with Camp Cthulu.

I'm not actually sure there is a Camp Cthulu, but that name will attract a wide variety of cool nerds with wild ideas. Pretty much all you need for a theme camp is cool nerds with wild ideas and a catchy name.

You're right, of course, gyre. But the term "liberal" is so much nicer than "knucklehead". At least, in my opinion.

No way! A liberal basher?! Cool!

Let's talk neo-con idiocy, if you please..

Would the term "Progressive" sit a little better with you?
