Night Ultimate?
I'd be up for some night ultimate! If everyone brings 3 green and 3 orange (?) glow sticks or costumes, we could easily have enough glow for individuals to see their teammates / opponents and mark the end zones and such. I have - and I'm sure others do - those LED based discs. If we play far enough in the deep playa random strangers walking through wouldn't be a large concern. Though the canadian in me loves the idea of having to yell "ART CAAAAARRR" crossing the field like road hockey.
Ping if you like the idea and we could try for a location / night - factoring in "playa time" effects

Where? When? Understanding the vagueries of 'playa time'....What about saying the 9:00 plaza at 9:00pm which should be just before dusk? Art dependant, the plazas are a good open space in the city to throw around the ball / disc and if enough people show up an impromptu game can form up there or head out past the Landfill for more wide open efforts.Punkin' Drublic wrote:Count me in for Kickball and Ultimate. Tuesday? Most theme camps and art installations aren't really switched from "Work mode" to full "party mode" until end of Monday I'd reckeon.Greenltdistrict wrote:Monday night? Get the party started???!?!?

Anything that lights up is good. I have a red one. Their balance isn't quite the same as a good game disc, but given that most of us will be inebriated or otherwise, it probably doesn't matter too much.Greenltdistrict wrote:True, tuesday is good. Looked at LED frisbee's today...is it better to have one with color?
Would be awesome to paint a game disc with uv paint and everyone dress up in UV and then find an open air UV art installation in the deep playa that we could play beside. That would be kinda fun surreal.
I wonder what the playa feels like to dive on? Probably not good.

Ball care on the playa
The best way to keep your balls in good shape in the heat is to release the pressure on them during the hottest part of the day and never expose them to direct sunlight when not in use.
Alright now... Ya'll understand I'm talking about kickballs here.
If anybody wants to go over kickball rules, here is the rule book for the largest citywide league in the country.

OH MAN....
This is gonna be good...
You'll need sunglasses during a full moon night to look at our camp. The reflective material we used to cover 10 pyramids and our dome seems to amplify the light almost. SUPER BRIGHT! Frisbee should be easy in the reflection range hehePunkin' Drublic wrote:Probably won't need too many glow sticks this year. The moon will be nearly full the whole weekend. It should be bright enough that artificial light won't be needed. If the conditions are right you might need sunglasses at night.
