Where can I buy those huge helium balloons?

Post by transgirl » Sun Aug 12, 2007 10:49 am

I see pics from 2002 with people using the type of huge balloon I am looking for.

I dont know where to get them...I guess online but which websites are the best for price & shipping speed?

Anyone? Anyone?

Thanks

I'm not sure how huge you're looking for. Like 2' diameter? They have those "bopper" balls, that are large heavy duty balloons and a rubber band. You blow them up, punch them, and the rubber band pulls it right back so you can punch it again. Bop bop bop bop. Those are usually in the toy sections of drug stores.

Your looking for weather balloons. I have seen them up to 16 feet in diameter and still round, any bigger than that and they start looking like an inverted tear drop shape.

Do a google search for (weather balloons, sale) - pops right up.

...I'm happy to see that they still carry them! I remember getting balloons from them thirty years ago (!!!) and inflating them with the vaccuum cleaner...Be careful of the environment you're inflating in- Check for sharp objects. Do NOT inflate on a pingpong table...the pokey fibers in the top will pop it, I discovered. You don't want one of those bursting in your face, believe me!
Be prepared to fight like hell to control such a beast on the playa.
