Call for DJs and Films

[Buddhaback]

The Astor Place Imagined CinemaLounge and Martini Bar (8:15 and Esplanade) is looking for DJs and original films to exhibit in our 32' dome.
DJs: We will have two DJ dominated nights (Tuesday and Friday). DJs will have access to two CD players, two mixers (one for the CD players, one to mix between music and film audio), two projectors with the DJ's choice of films, and an elevated DJ booth. We'd be happy to incorporate turntables and laptops, if they're provided by the DJ. We're looking for house, disco-house, drum n' bass, and lighter, danceable fare.

Additionally, we'd be happy to accommodate DJs on other afternoons or nights, provided the music is down-tempo (it IS a lounge, afterall).

Filmmakers: Wednesday and Thursday we will be holding a Black Rock City Film Festival. In addition to a number of independent and original films, we've arranged to show several competing films in prior years' BRC 48 Hour Film Competition. Any filmmakers who wish to exhibit their films, experimental, mainstream or just plain weird, are welcome to present, and will be given the floor if they wish to say a few words...

About Astor and the CinemaLounge: Astor Place Imagined (or AstorPlaya) is the re-imagining of a New York City square dedicated strictly to pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Entertainment and artwork includes Brownstones, a subway station, tea room and boccie ball courts. The CinemaLounge is a 32' diameter, multi-platformed dome which will exhibit films both on a screen, and against its white shell. A dedicated martini bar and red carpet entrance round out the experience....
