Mener's tips for not destroying your vinyl on the Playa

Planning to bring vinyl to Burning Man this year? Dont want to destroy it though? Well, this is my 9th year DJ'ing ONLY vinyl on the playa and I've never had a record that was destroyed out there yet. Here's some helpful tips:

1) First you want to pack alot of records. You want it pretty snug in the 'ol case there.
2) Before placing your records in your flight case, wrap them in like 2 or 3 plastic bags and tie on of them at the top. This will prevent dust from getting in there before you open it.
3) Bring your own slipmats and needles. Only bring the slipmats out when you are playing and only then. Needles get destroyed out there quickly, so its good to have your own. In fact, I was supposed to play at Basswave Marina back in 2002 or 2003, but only brought vinyl and no needles, so I wasnt able to play.
4) When you do play, only take out the record you're playing, and leave the sleeve in the case. IMMEDIATELY cover your case with the plastic. You want to keep it covered as much as possible.
5) Make sure your case is NEVER in direct sunlight. Actually, if you pack the records pretty tight, you can leave them in the trunk and be fine.

See you all out there!! I'm bringing mostly CDs this year, but I'm bringing a flightcase of records just in case.
