I wouldn't mind throwing down some of my dope ass haiku. Here's one for you now...

Like a proper cat,
I use my tongue for a bath.
What a nasty man!
Thanks to Addis, I had more free time.

If I'm at
where you're at
at the time that
you said that
the readings were at
when I know that
exact place that
your camp is at.

Lots of Midwest Mayhem is from Chicago from what I understand. Chicago is home to some amazing slam poets so excited to stop by! I am way too shy to read my poetry but will see. I looked at the list and looks like they are at 10 & A.

Also, actually, Silicon Burners will be holding a slam the night of the eclipse if we want to do a "poetry trade" :-) I'm hosting, so just PM me or email at werd2thenerd AT yahoo

Sorry for the slight threadjack

We are all from the Chi and as it sits now I am the only poet who is a part of our camp. I hope I live up to your expectations and make Chi proud :)

Please come by and read for us yo, it would be an honor. It will be a chill atmosphere.

I have some sexy translations of Archilochus, Ibycus, and Anacreon I did last semester. I didn't write it originally, but I did do the translation. Would you want to include something like that?

Once more, Eros casts hid boundless net of Love
by looking at me tenderly with eyes under dark lashes.
Truly, I quiver at him perching just as a prized race horse,
immune from age, being born again with swift carriage into the contest.

Ibycus 287
If I was to stop using the subjunctive, would anyone notice?
