Sadly ales & bitters are on the decline here in England & concerned with a dwindling market, CAMRA was spurned into action.
There's still a good amount of variety out there, but now you have to go to something like a wine bar to get any kind of proper selection.

Stouts and lagers aren't part of the pact (largely due to them stealing the market share) hence the bitterness towards stouts... larger's fine cos I drink that.
