Sorry if I'm being too literal here:

In America
The Terminal
House of Sand and Fog
Far and Away
Coming to America
Brewster's Millions
The American Rabbit
West Side Story
and...

Planet Terror!
Okay, so ten out of ten for style, but minus several million for good thinking, yeah?

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Thelma and Louise

Somehow the 5 years between the two films indicated a shift in the definition of "hope", and "freedom".

To Kill a Mockingbird and Easy Rider came immediately to mind.

In the book, the story is originally set in America.

Yes, one of my favorites. Ringo was Guy Grand's adopted son.

Hamlet, Duck a L'orange, French Noses, Christopher Lee, "Black and White, Everyone's Getting Uptight", "Oh, yes," "I say, do that again!", Hot Damn Vietnam ... and pressurized firkins. Great flick.
