I meant it to be slightly serious slightly funny, serious because it would be the end of the American dream (as in the end of the burn with the theme of the American dream) and I think that that event was the beginning of the end for the real "American dream".

Also slightly funny because it would make me chuckle if I saw it, maybe it's my morbid sense of humor and probably because we see things with a little bit of a different perspective from half a world away.

I never said I wouldn't laugh. Then again, I pretty much laugh at everything.

Ultimately it would err on the tasteless side methinks, but hey... what the fuck is gonna top that ginormous explosion fireball of doom and socio-political fireworks show from last year's Crude Awakening?

I mean, you kinda have to start taking tasteless risks if you wanna raise the bar, no?

So, maybe if the plane was like this one in the vid? Then it would be kinda funny.

hippie_nz wrote:So I've been thinking, with this years theme being the American Dream and the man pavlion looking alot like a tall building, maybe it's a good idea to fly a plane into the side of it to set the man on fire. I think it would be very fitting.

What do you guys think?
I think we need to light YOUR ass on fire and launch you at the Man from a trebuchet.

LOL just being a witty american

Had you been in Manhattan, and seen the people leaping to their deaths rather that be burned alive, and heard the whump, whump, WHUMP! of ordinary office workers from around the world smacking into the pavement, cars and surrounding rooftops then yes, you might have a different perspective.

If you had been engulfed in the clouds of ash from the falling buildings and realized that some of that ash was from the thousands of people incinerated in this heinous act then yes, you might have a different perspective.

Many Americans have awesome senses of humor, but not about this.

You will be passing through a few Indian reservations on the way to Black Rock City, Why don't you let them know that you think that whole "Trail of tears" thing sounds like a real hoot and you'd like to be a cavalry officer in their next reenactment.

Sheesh, who ever told you guys you had a right to never be offended?

If you want to be upset about something, how about the fact that terrorism was provoked by the bushreagan practice of whitewashing it and negotiating with terrorists?
How about the thousands of american civilians killed overseas and everyone else put at tremendous risk by what they did?
How about being upset that the only group the government has capable of dealing with the toxic materials in New York was ordered to not go?
As a result of this, far more people will be injured by the toxic waste than by the collapse.
Don't forget that the attack was a failure.
The goal was to topple the towers sideways, killing 100,000 people or more.

And can anyone explain to me why anyone was still in towers that had nearly been taken down in the first attack, and had been declared a free fire zone by terrorists worldwide?
(Why they wanted to I can't imagine, unless it was on architectural grounds?)

no gyre-
this thread is not about ANY of those things.
This thread is about a kid named hippie nz who thought it was a good idea to post one of his idiotic thoughts.

he has a right to do that.
we have a right to feel any way we feel and you have a right to speculate and spew any kind of opinions and/or facts you want.

The general consensus here is plain to see and I'm glad to see it.

I hear your points and i like you.

hippie nz is a DOINK!

doink

verb

1. to steal, usually playfully.

Is that even an insult?

i can see doing something to this, but NO it wouldn't be funny.

I think the Greeks had a name for it.

i don't need to insult him. he's already done that himself. plus, i like everyone here and would greet you with a hug.

however,
it fits him perfectly.
to steal is not respectful.
he's a kid. kind of like a puppy. puppies are playful and they want attention.

mix the two and it becomes "doink". some doinks should be spanked.

daddymassive, sometimes your a doink that needs to be spanked too,...as am I.

Everybody now, SPANK your DOINK!

I'm at the very least pedantic.

Either you're confusing your you'res with your yours or I’m missing out on owning a doink.
Are these things essential for life/Burning Man?
Where can I get one in time?!??!!

conveniently obtuse.

Now I'm confused. It only made sense to me as "your". "You are" makes no sense in that case...

/doinks your doink.

Let's get the burn drama started earlier this year. No I don't have anything thoughful to add, must I? If you don't like what people post, then why reply to it and bring it further up the top of threads? You must deep down inside truely think that what NZ Hippie wrote was the most clever thing you've heard. I know I do. That's right..judge me for what I believe. See you all soon, good thing to, the dust is starting to make its way off my camelback.

Fucking hippies. Always wanting to mooch of other people's work.

BM is all about RADICAL SELF RELIANCE.

Build your own Man. Bring your own plane. Fly it yourself. Burn yourself.

But PLEASE take a shower before you do. I can't stand the smell of burning patchouli. It doesn't go well with the non organic BBQ sauce I'm gonna douse you with.

American Dream? Isn't that why all the oppressive countries hate us?
