So I've been thinking, with this years theme being the American Dream and the man pavlion looking alot like a tall building, maybe it's a good idea to fly a plane into the side of it to set the man on fire. I think it would be very fitting.

What do you guys think?

I think it's a fantastic idea...but only if a whole bunch of us that work our asses off all year long to make it to BRC get to come over to your camp and destroy your tent or something of major importance to you! You know...you gift us with wanton endangerment and the destruction of something very symbolic to us, we gift you with something similarily destructive in return.

So yeah, I think it's a splendid idea....

Just think...if you even attempted your asinine idea there's a slim chance you could find yourself spending time in the same Nevada prison that Addis will hopefully end up in...and maybe you can be put on wildfire duty together. How great would that be? Working side by side by another attention whore putting out wildfires and being miserable together....it sounds great!

I think he's talking about the planned destruction of the man, not an intervention.

Sigh. The snark was better last year. Step it up, people.

And that would be a flaming SUV, thank you very much.

Chasing a flaming hippie.

Sorry I was bored...it was the best I could come up with on short notice. AntiM was right, it was better last year.

By the way if anyone wanted to try the flaming SUV idea I've got one I'd donate to the cause providing someone comes out here to Nebraska and gets it.

The man will burn. You mortals are simply postponing the inevitable.

The exploding suv is a reference to the terrorists that tried to blow up an airport by crashing suvs into the lobby and blowing them up.
They didn't have enough explosive to do much and they couldn't make them do anything but burn.
They were caught immediately and managed only smoke damage.

I once shut down an international airport for an hour or so.
That would probably get a more frantic response these days.
It wasn't intentional.
Just one of those things.

you're an idiot.
i don't think there's anything else any one could or should say to you.

did you think your original post was "witty"?
It made some people mad.
It made most people say, "what an idiot, or asshole or something to that nature".

most just moved on.

dude, what do you have to offer?

are you schooling the "Americans" on how to "laugh at themselves"

Really, what are you offering here?

Considering I’ve seen this course of action being suggested at least twice before on Eplaya, I’m surprised people would object so vehemently when it’s been suggested again.
Oh no wait! Hippie NZ isn’t an American.
In that case…How very dare you suggest such a terrible thing.
Don’t you know only Americans can be critical about themselves and their circumstances?
This is simply not open to negotiation.
They represent the pinnacle of humankind and as such no other fucktard nation has the right to voice dissent.

Worse still, you’ve only posted little over a dozen times, don’t seem to be part of the veteran burner set and worst of all none of these fine fellows can fuck you (in a heterosexual way at least). You are of no use here.
I’d do what they say and don’t go! Better still, kill yourself and anyone that shares your genes in your past, present or future generations.

It's almost a traditional idea.
There was the person who tried to fly a plane loaded with explosives into the white house.
There was the person who crashed a small plane into it.
And, of course, the attempt to fly a fedex plane into Fred Smith's office.
It seems there was quite a violent battle.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FedEx_Flight_705

I think if someone is willing to fly the plane, we should give them a shot.
Probably violates some FAA rules though.

Yeah, like Jews need to giggle over Auschwitz and let by-gones be by-gones. Or the people of Uganda ought to, just for fun, throw mannequines in the Congo.

You and Daddy Massive are just two souless pricks to think it is cool or acceptably snarky to jest about the senseless tragic burning alive of totally innocent men, women and children.

After we all vent at these two trolls, let's let this thread die off.
Or maybe the mods could lock it. It serves no purpose and it is radically expressive only in the way shouting the N word in So Central LA would be.

god, some people.

Erm... I wasn't 'jesting about senseless tragedy'.
I was jesting about the hypocrisy of this thread and the lame alpha-male attitude prevalent in this forum.

The first time I noticed someone suggest the moronic idea of a 9/11 parody I though it stupid. I continue to think it's stupid, but I think the responses to it here are even more so.

You truly are an idiot, aren't ya?

At first I thought you just had inappropriate humor. If you think that people can't laugh at themselves is the reason people think you're dumb, then they are correct. You laugh at yourself when you trip and fall on your face. You laugh at yourself when you look at dorky pictures of yourself in high school. You don't laugh at thousands of people dying. It was less than ten years ago and a lot of people lost family members and friends. Even tragedies that happened 100's of years ago still are not funny.

I'm not saying you can't make any jokes related to 911 or any tragedy. Monty python made some pretty funny jokes about things that weren't funny in real life. The problem is the only thing funny about flying a plane into the man is that it pisses people off, and it's not really that funny because anyone who was directly affected by it has a right to be pissed off. Pissing people off is fun when they are being ignorant. For example, I think it's fun to act flaming gay is anyone or groups shows homophobia. I've seen a shirt that instead of saying "I *HEART* New York" it said "I *PLANE* New York". It made me laugh because it's so inappropriate and it was just a picture of it where I'd expect to read offensive things. If I saw someone wearing it in real in public life I would have little respect for that person. If you think of a way to make something related to 911 humorous please share, but your idea is pretty lame.

All sarcasm and humor aside, it would be a serious piece of performance art that would resonate deeply by all witnesses with a collective "Whoa!".

It would not be funny. I would not feel like dancing and partying all night after I witnessed such an event. However, I might consider it deeply and talk to my friends and nearest total strangers about what I witnessed in a glow of shock and awe.

I would be reminded of a day in my life that didn't affect me personally, but may have just affected me more than I know.

I may ask myself... why would anyone do this?

I might find out why and understand...

I might live in denial and not care...

I might not even think about it at all...

I might just dance all night long and go home the next day and do it again next year.

I agree with you FunkHole. The sad part is the original poster apparently thought it'd be funny.
