Open Invitation to BRC Artists and Residents

Postby *Moonshine* » Wed Jul 16, 2008 12:54 pm

Celestial Bodies (Avalon Village) is planting a freedom garden in our camp this year. Artists are invited to create and install an art piece or sculpture in our garden. Interactive pieces that include bells (of any sort) are preferred. This is a camp art installation, not a large scale playa installation.

For more information visit: -or- contact:

Our camp activities include:

Freedom Bell Garden (Playa Monday - Sunday)
Come visit our Freedom Garden and ring the golden bell. Add a bell to the Freedom Tree or plant your own freedom bell-inspired art sculpture. Help us ring in an awakened consciousness - Let Freedom Ring.
Hosted by: Celestial Bodies @ Avalon Village

Miss UnAmerican Pageant (Playa Friday 1pm)
Join MissTake, MissFit, MissBehave and other beauties in a fun and outrageous pageant. Dress up as your favorite, most outrageous Miss UnAmerican contestant. Tiaras and sashes provided (or make your own). The pageant starts with cocktails in our lounge followed by a parade through center camp and dancing at the Deep End.
Hosted by: Celestial Bodies @ Avalon Village

American Scream (Playa Wednesday-Saturday 3-5pm)
Come scream your applause for your favorite BRC talent. Artists and performers are invited to share / show off their lounge acts at the great American Scream talent review. Are you a live music performer, magician, juggler, comedian, or a performance artist in search of a small intimate lounge atmosphere? Camp Celestial Bodies offers a low platform stage a CD / iPod ready sound system, PA, mixer, mics, and speakers. Sign up early for your spot on stage. Drop-ins also encouraged.
