Stag Camp
Howdy everyone!
I have been on the web for quite some time researching Burning Man and it looks absolutely amazing! The only problem is that my friends are not into this kind of thing at all (trust me, I tried) and will not go with me. I definitely do not want to go alone, but I do want to go, so this seemed like the best choice for me. From reading earlier posts you all seem like really interesting and nice people, so I hope you would accept a 20 year old virgin (BM virgin that is  ) into your rank. I am open to all types of people no matter what you are or what your philosophies may be.
I have yet to purchase a ticket and I am not actually certain I will end up going. However, I am going to Sacramento next week and I saw they are selling tickets there. So I am quite tempted.
I am not experienced at camping so I won't be much of a help in the beginning. But I would be happily willing to help in anything that needs to get done around the camp.
But mostly I am just looking for a cool group of accepting people willing to help make my (potentially) first Burning Man a memorable experience. In return I will try my very best to do the same for everyone else. :D
Best wishes,
Sam(wise...sorta)

Sigh ok here it goes..... I am Scared....
Ok so last year during my yearly physical they found a very small lump on my right testicle... they determined that it was probley nothing and said to me if it feels like it is getting bigger or have any pain then let us know... so i kept track of it while i was on deployment i noticed it was a little bigger so i went to the doc he said it is not a major change.... don't worry about it it is nothing... yesterday i had to go to the doctor for fucking up a nerve in my elbow... while i was there i figured kill 2 birds with one stone and got my physical out of the way. Well the doctor gave me that like :: UH OH:: look and the " Hummm that is interesting"... so when you hear that from your doctor you start freaking out and going through the that is never good thoughts..... so then i asked whats up and he said that it has actually grown a consider amount from last year... from like () that big to like ( ) big.... i mean i noticed it felt a little bit bigger but i did not think it actually got that much bigger... every time i asked one of the doctors while on deployment they said either not to worry about it now or wait till i get back to the states there is nothing they can do about it out there.... so i waited and waited and got back the USA and then waited and finale i guess it got to a size they thought was big enough to worry about... so now they have me made an appointment for me to get an ultrasound to check and see what is up and to determent if they want to do a biopsy or not... so naturally i am freaking the fuck out..... i mean it could be nothing or it could be a cyst or it could be cancer.... so now i got all these thoughts running through my head and am freaking out... they are calling me tomorrow to let me know when the appointment is....
yeah so yeah
just thought i would let you all know... i told my family back east now i need to tell the people who are my burner family out here and all over the US ... I usually never freak out about stuff that i go to the doctor for and i mean i have never freaked out about doing some really crazy dumb shit and usually never let people know whats going on ... but this... this scares the shit out of me.... so if i am not acting sorta like my self lately you know why... I am hoping to see everybody at fools in April for the san diego, oc, and la community and for the staggers on the playa i will see you .... Sorry for sorta making it sound like i am dumping my self out here i am just scared from not know what it could or could not be... anyway i have to get back to working.... well thanks for everybody reading this you are all very spical to me even though i don't call and say it all the time to everybody or i don't say it on here enough.... Thank you and lots of love to all of my San Diego Family and my Stag Camp Family.

Hello Staggers!
I am a second year Burner with a nasty case of "second year fever!" I am waiting to hear back from DPW about working set up and tear down this year, but if for whatever reason they dont' accept me, I can't think of any other place I'd like to stay than STAG camp! During the event I'm going to be working shifts at both the airport and the cafe, in addition to writing for the Beacon and (hopefully) sitting in as a BMIR DJ for a couple hours at some point, so I won't be around a whole lot, but when I am I can tell we will all get along just fine! *pass the wake up drink please!*
I remember reading the first post by Fat Sam last year and being immediately intrigued, and wishing I hadn't just joined up with a group of locals, even though they turned out to be great of course, there are very few douchebags in BRC! I will of course bring everything necessary for survival, but as opposed to last year when I had every comfort imaginable, I'm on an extremely tight budget. (Being a writer is NOT the way to riches!)
That's part of the reason I'm gifting so much of my time, I even signed up to work the cafe on Burn Night! I am however an amazing cook so perhaps I can exchange my culinary prowess for an occasional meal of "real food" instead of the granola bars and cup-O-noodles that will make up the majority of my entrees??
Of course if I get on with DPW then I'll be camping in the DPW ghetto and eating at the commissary, but I still wanna meet you guys and hang out, maybe I could write something up about the STAGGERS for the Beacon?? It's a good story, Burners from all over, from all walks of life, coming together for a week in the desert and having the time of their lives! Just know that even if you don't get me as a campmate, you've already got me as a friend! You will undoubtedly be hearing from me again!

Hey fellow burners,
We're a group of four virgins (2 NYers, and 2 DCers) looking forward to Stag Camp. We'll probably be driving out from San Fransico for the lasr 4-5 days of BM, with an RV full of yummies, goodies, and sunscreen.
Can't wait to meet you all!

Hey, none of you know me, but you may recall my friends who camped with you last year. Daryl and Chris from Boulder. I just thought I'd say that they plan on returning to the camp this year. They're not often on the internet otherwise I'd leave it to them to express their interest on here. I may be joining them as well =)

Seeing our thread go in to overdrive once again brings a smile and laugh to me after another slogging through the mud work day.
I remember you Lakshmi! From other threads.
Have we all been reading the 2007 survival guide in preparation for the release of the 2008 survival guide.

Just dropping in to see what has transpired since I last checked in. It is good to see new members consistently joining. The more the merrier, I still need to meet people from last year as I did not spend too much time in camp. I also had to leave early, but this year I am staying the whole week so I want to pre-meet people this year have some buds in place for arrival. Trying to decide what I want to bring this year whether to rough it our have more stuff. What is everyone else thinking of.

I am bringing nearly everything under the sun again. I will be bringing a scaled down version of repair stuff in case there is an emergency repair needed on my mutant vehicle or something else. I will not be setting up my huge green shade with my plywood room inside but will be living in my box truck. I will have shade off of one side but it will be simple, fairly open and possibly have room for a couple of tents under there. The other side will have my shower and evaporator set up. I will be facing the nose of the truck more or less south on the south side of camp so that my access to the box will be in the generally leeward side for wind and so the evaporator is exposed to more sun and wind. I will need to park the mutant somewhere but that will be figured out later when we start to make a camp diagram.

Just showing my face--been MIA during finals these last couple weeks. I'm glad to see we've got so many new and excited faces and that all our old staggers are posting up as usual. The holes in my fingers from the last sewing party are almost healed. Motsky's jacket is nearing completion--I turned all the lights out in my house the other light and danced around in front of it with a flashlight mimicking a strobe effect--David, you might end up the brightest spot on the playa--and Stef has sewed Shell's flame vest. I just have to stud it. Another weekly trip to Joann. Prepping for the Chicago burn community's Resonate party. Sure that will add another dose of inspiration. Just as soon as I get these damn finals done. Love to all.
