I have never attended BM, i've been doing some reading on the website and the forum. I am a student here in nyc, and I dont own a vehicle.
I would really like to purchase a ticket and attend this year, but was wondering if there are people who fly to the nearest airport there and hitch a ride afterwards. or a cab
no vehicle?

Try to arrange a ride before hand. Remember that you will be responcible for your 1 & 1/2 gallons of water a day and your food and shelter, so figure out how you are going to transport that to Reno. Link to ride share

It's about a two hour drive from Reno, so a cab is probably not a good idea. Yes, lots of people hitch rides every year, but that is never guaranteed so it's a good idea to try and hook something up beforehand. Pack smart! If you have six duffel bags of clothes, two coolers, 20 gallons of h2o, a tent, and a shade structure you're going to have a much harder time finding a ride. Stick to essentials and pick up anything you can in Reno.
I think we're all missing out on a serious cash opportunity here, Burners. We could set up a BRC shuttle service. Two rides a day out to the playa. Throw your shit on board, pony up the dough, and kick back while we get your ass to the party. Now we just need to find someone to drive the damn thing...

Nearest airport
The nearest airport is at the edge of the Black Rock City. you can walk from there. Still how will you get water?
