Filmmakers needed for movie screen

We will be building a 30 x 45 ft screen out in the playa that will show short films from sunset-sunrise.
Films / Animations / Claymation / Music video / etc.

If you built it a lot bigger, then we could all park facing it, and it would be like being at the the drive-in movies. Maybe you could get one of the BRC radio stations to carry the audio. The City is already configured like a drive-in movie theater anyway, complete with the snackbar at 6:00 and the jungle gym / swingset out by the screen area. The only thing missing are greasy-haired punks pawing at bra straps in the backseat!

there was a guy in 07 who brought out a super huge screen, it was setup on the 2oclock arm, but he didn't stay long, it was up for only a night or two, I think wind was a real problem.

Anyway it's nice to hear that someone is trying it again, I live edit video at dance partys, and just love the thought of a super HUGE screen making it's way to the playa!

Yea I used to actually watch that show. I was all excited when he came to our town. After watching him "trip" the show makes a lot more sense now...lol

A drive-in would be the coolest thing ever in BRC!

I'd have to concur w/my man stickygreen (what up dude), the wind out there will make a screen that size, out in the open, nearly impossible to make work.
It'd be downright dangerous unless it was done to insane spec.
Not to say I wouldn't love to see it done, but it'd *really* have to be done right on an engineering level to avoid serious accidents.

hey LEVLHED ! getting around the net are you..

I think the way to make it wind proof is to make it allow the wind to pass thru it. the screens I've set up on the playa have been made of mesh, With some chunky frames, tethered to the ground, they seem to stand all week.

What about one of the groups that brings out some of those REALLY BIG trucks or vans or trailers and use it as the screen, wind or not it ain't goin nowhere. just a thought..........
