A suggestion for photographs during the Temple burn.
This isn't a bitchfest, just a thread of a potential suggestion to photographers during the temple burn to turn the sounds of your camera off. Hearing *BEEP BEEP* BEEEEEEEEP* *CLICK* *BEEP BEEP* about 100 times in a row behind my head kind of took away from the overall moment.
Strangely the flash didn't seem to be so annoying.
Just an idear.

"That's going to go in there?!?!?!"

Don't expect them to know how to turn off the beeps.

LOL I'm lucky if I can just turn the camera on and snap a picture. The controls are way too complicated.CapSmashy wrote:I am really amazed by the people that do not turn of the sounds from their point and shoot cameras. First thing I do on any electronic device is shut off the noises it makes.

I actually agree. It wasn't really a big deal and again, this isn't a bitchfest. Just one of those things that would have been nice since it seemed to come from an experienced photographer (Define experience however you will...) with nice gear and blah blah blah blah...

I had pretty strong feelings about the temple this year, and really had no desire to see the burn itself, because I don't think I would have appreciated it. I knew sadness was so tightly bound inside that structure and it needed to be released. I'm not sure if that was something I would celebrate, or be relieved by or what. I'm glad it happened and that's all that counted for me this year.
I actually so very much enjoyed this years temple burn.
It was everything and nothing.
The area we were in was sooooo quiet that you could have heard a pin drop if there had been a crushed pbr on the ground for it to hit.
Then, the wave......
Then Quiet again.....
Then Music came on as people started getting restless....
Then all the Mutant vehicles that had us blocked in(ok as it was ALL friends and family we knew, of course happened to be the 3 largest flame throwing in BRC...except for Wheelgunner was missing in action???
There was dancing and huge flames and roasting marshmallows and heat and family and a broken hearts instantly healed.
Ok not healed, but by chance, stitched up a wee bit.
and of course no dust storm to try to get back to camp by...
