Making your own 300 dollar projectors or buying the 2000 dollar inferior models?

http://www.lumenlab.com/
Pretty decent source for DIY projection.
Replacement and/or repair of these is also alot cheaper, 15 dollar bulbs vs 100-200 dollar bulbs.

Well it was my friend makoona's videos and projection system.
It did look amazing on the star tent. hope to have him do it again next year.
I have plans to go into the AV studio to make video just for the projection on the tent.

with the booths it should expand the shade under the star shade to 50 feet across.

thanks PM

I think a full oak floor for the structure would work well. I can cover the full 50+ feet of space with parka oak dance floor.

I have been working on this concept since 2006. the type of sound system is very unique in how its set up also. No sound camp thump thump unless you're in the structure. With six sub-woofers and 12 speakers and with less than 300 watts.

Well if yoiu decide to build yer own feel free to drop me a line, I've built about 2 dozen DIY projectors. They are REALLY easy and a talented dude like you should be able to knock one out in about 8 hours or so. Basically they're just an LCD display (100 dollars or so) the lenses or wither side of the LCD and round lens up front and some fans to cool your bright light inside your box/enclosure. Lumenlab has plenty of DIY projectors in the forum and some videos showing the disassembly of the LCD which is the trickiest part of the process (tho its not all that tricky for mechanically inclined folks).

thanks I just might build a couple one from stage side and one from the entrance. What was cool about it is when we projected from the outside we had a high res picture inside also. so if i project from outside the entrance. I have a moving picture on the out side and also inside. I could conceivable put one on top of each booth, entrance and stage to give all side moving pictures inside and out.

I am looking to pick up a star stage 550 to cover the stage.

Well seeing that the Black Sabkha consists of only one person at this point. I guess the question would be “what is my Philosophy?â€

Gosh, that's some philosophy.

I assumed that your guiding principle was being awesome.

It's only my philosophy...it sure gets me in trouble some times though.

awesome? no....ask anyone I can be a mean fucking ass hole if needed.

I prefer not to be if possible.

Would you like to sit at a table, booth or at the bar next to the stage Sir? Pisco sour is the drink of the night or I could warm up a PBR for you. Sorry they are very cold right now...I could have it warmed for you in just a few moments. please sit down and enjoy the show your drinks will be right out to you.

That doesn't defeat awesome.

I owe you a day of burn and half a night's sleep, so if you need a rail for that bar just send me some dimensions.

Indeed, very cool.
Cool indeed! The pisco sours were tasty too! Mozy is quite the host.
I wish we could have stayed longer but the missus was suffering from wander lust. The Black Sabkha was a most welcome respite from the dust. Thanks for everything Mozy!

Looking pretty interesting, Bonz…

The Pyrat Rum bottle and big fat stogy give away that you’ve been sitting up late noodling on this.

I like the stage/booth setup. I'm a big fan of intimate spaces and downtempo, so I'm digging the idea.

Thank you Lucid484 for your inquiry

I am looking for more of a down beat chill space ambient sound.

Blues, smooth Jazz, down tempo tracks (groove salad would be a good example of that) http://somafm.com/play/groovesalad

Yes since 2006.
Dusza Beben wrote:the pisco sours were tasty too!
Sorry DB I cant take credit for that. the pisco sours came from the great BWB campers who was using the bar for their Pisco Disco night.

fciron you owe me nothing. it was a pleasure to have you around.

thanks guys for reminding me what a great burn I had this year.

Thanks I would love some.

The bar is one 4 foot Panel and four 3 foot panels
they have 2x4's screwed and glued on the back at the edges of each panel.

Really? I just sat and smoked a cig one night there and watched Mozy grab awsome by the neck until it cried "UNCLE!", take off it's vest to wear & then flip around and get awsome a Corona- nothin' personal, no hard feelings :D
Seriously Bonz-- I know it's a wee time away til' 09', but if you need some help somehow (I'm a fine artist- could make up visual media for The Black Sabkha i.e.- VIP laminates, t-shirts, hankerchiefs, trading tokens/currency? etc. Time/material cost the limits :) Let me know (open forum/personal message/e-mail/ so many communicating venues, only so many times to post it :D

fire performers, live musicians, down tempo DJ's. Hooper's, painters sculpture art and more.
I am looking to put together a performance art group for the Night club. I am also looking for support staff for the performers and the night club.
For people interested in joining the group pm me for a invite into the back room of the Black Sabkha.
http://tribes.tribe.net/blacksabperform ... ibe].Tribe[5611196d-5145-4b8e-b642-90faf0700f6b]

Performers and Staff have no requirements to camp with the night club.
you can just come and do a performance. and camp where you like.
