Idea Farming
Idea Farming
Heyo burners,
Our group has been offered some left over real estate in a somewhat prime area (not the esplanade) The catch is: that we have to do something with/offer something to the crowd.
So far we have a couple of costco carports, 15ft dome, and camo shade. Blank slate.
What we have thought of so far:
Camp Xenu: play rigged games for your soul against the ex-ruler of the galaxy. Have your thetan levels read.
Generic chillzone: add as many couches and pillows as you can find to the decor. set music.
Camp Don't Throw Up Here: Hey, I thought it was a good name.
Captain Planet Camp: earth,wind,fire,water...... ugh and heart. what else can you possibly need?
thats what we have so far - its pretty low on creativity.

Hey dc383, check out this thread. http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic. ... sc&start=0
It sounded like a good idea to me, but I believe it's dead in the water already. It recieved a lot of good feedback and even some offers for volunteers. Maybe you guys could take a crack at it.

Re: Idea Farming
since you stated that it is not on the esplanade, it leads one to assume that it must be straight across the street from the JOTS.dc383 wrote:Heyo burners,

That's the next best place to be...Right ???
BTW...how can they have extra land already when no one has gotten thier approval for theme camp space to be used yet ?
We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.
First,
I dont really know where it is going to be. All we know is that we were just offered a block of space with a camp that has been on the esplanade for a couple of years and that we wont be on said esplanade.
Second,
The shy camp seems like a real great idea except for the part with a bar and drinks. I should have mentioned that we are on a shoestring budget (for things outside of personal gear) and our ideas are constrained by it.
So rephrase: Any good ideas for cheap themes and/or good ideas to keep costs down when interacting with crowds?
thank you.
