I finally created an account after hearing about the jerking around that theme camps are getting so if you looking to get your bliss on and fire up for the burn ...skip this posting...

Now I understand LLC may be in deep crap over the BRC population in regards to the BLM permit. Fine...stop selling tickets at the gate (which now has been repealed I hear >.> )

But what in the everlovin whirld is going on with treating theme camps with FURTHER disregard than in the past??? Let's see...Theme camps are really the show in BRC, with no disrespect to the amazing art and installations out on the playa. They make the city, literally. So if I have this straight...these hard working people put aside their everyday life and spend their hard earned time off to BUILD the city and put on the best shows (night and day) on the playa. No only are they not paid, but they pay LLC to put on the 'show' that makes them successful and keeps people coming back by the droves and keep it rockin all week long before they bust ass to tear it all down.

So yeah...the city seemed a bit too spread out in 08..mainly due to the poor biking conditions, but midplaya was a beehive by thursday in 07 and the esplanade had a lot of black hole camps (uhaul + couches + plywood DJ booth)..so cudos for the changes last year. Despite being larger, the camps were great.

Smaller city...understandable BLM reasons...still... theme camps aren't getting placed? Is that preferred over RV/spectator land? Really?

And the early arrival mess...why are these passes suddenly being hoarded??? Sounds like most camps still have no idea how many they are getting O.o Why should that have changed from last year? This shit requires planning and mass coordination no? Does it all just spring out of the playa?? ..AND if I'm not mistaken they want camps up by Sunday??? Not funny.

LLC should be kissing these theme camps' asses, imo....NOT leaving them in the dark for no reason. How hard is it to COMMUNICATE! Instead I get the feeling like they don't really give a damn...or just enjoy playing 'gods' or play favorites possibly, who knows? Did Harley do most of this type of work? If so, I can understand why she left.

Who knows maybe LLC doesn't care if they come back and are planning on having vendors instead next year...I hear they pay better anyway -.-
