I recommend flex joints.

I would try a long pipe of large diameter -- at least as a starting point. If it is too loud, you can always splice in a muffler later.

I could splice the existing muffler inline pretty easily. I think it’d bee hidden as well. I’ll see what they say at the exhaust place about available diameters. The exhaust port casting is threaded for a 1-½â€

Talked to the muffler place and they think they can do it if I can make a cardboard pattern. But before I can template anything, I’ve got to focus on creating the reverse gear assembly since the exhaust could be a tight weave around that area.

Do you suppose you could pick up a Muffler Man or two while you're at it? They'd totally fit right in on the playa.

Those blue frame rail extensions are massive -- 3/16 wall -- so I do not expect it to sag in the middle.

And although the overall length will be close to 40 feet, much of that length is unaccessible, so I don't expect to carry more than 10 or 12 people. And the 500 pound piano.

The first boat is becoming surprisingly light now that most of it has been removed!

So there will be just the shells of the boats, and the floor that we stand/sit/dance on will be supported dirrectly on the chassis frame rails.

I think. Work still in progress. :o
