Stages seeking artists

Post by AntiM » Fri Jan 29, 2010 2:00 pm

If your camp or mutant vehicle or art project has a venue for artists or performers, and need hot bodies, be they musicians, singers, comics, DJs, dancers, juggles, acrobats, clowns, or navel gazing mystics, post here.

I, Anti M, do not need performers, thank you. Respond by PM or email (if provided) to the posters, not to me.

I am looking for musicians: ancient, medieval, renaissance, Celtic, middle east music. If you are in the SF Bay Area, that's a plus. Looking to explore fusion. Thanks!

Perform at the Golden Cafe

Post by Lucifer » Wed Mar 03, 2010 11:22 am

MUSICIANS and other performers! The Golden Cafe ( is a cocktail lounge and live music venue in its 9th year. Our emphasis is on live improvised music and jam sessions, covering all styles and genres, but we've been known to host other forms of performance as well. For 2010 we're expanding our recording and webcasting facilities, to give the default world a taste of BRC. If you're seeking an intimate venue in which to connect with your audience and with other performers, we invite you to drop on by! BTW, we especially need more brass - spread the word!

Light and heat,

Camp Spherical Inspiration seeks aerialists and performers

Post by ripvansparky » Mon Apr 05, 2010 12:48 am

Hi, we are a breakout camp this year. We have been attending Burning Man for many years, in varying degrees of participation. This year we are going to be putting on a performance themed camp. Our 60' blacklight reactive dome will be our performance area. You may have seen it on the playa in '09 across the Esplanade from camp tetrion. Hopefully we will receive placement on the Esplanade again this year. We have silks, drop pads, various fire dancers, and hopefully acroyoga teachers. If you are interested in using our space for performances, please contact us! You can find us on Facebook at Camp Spherical Inspiration, thank you, Kirtan. :D

Maze theme camp seeking artists

Post by gitnauk » Wed Jul 07, 2010 3:57 pm

Hello fair artists!

The Syncytium maze theme camp will be located on Ring Road, right by Center camp. We are looking for artists who want to showcase their art in our camp!

Whatever you propose, we'll consider it and let's see if we can work it out. It can be anything from a painted sheet that will be one of our maze walls (5ft tall, 5-6ft wide) to an ornate shade structure, a scultpture, a totally original medium that would go swell in a maze? Want to show videos? Have a performance? We have the space, but no equipment. Please PM or email me!

See you all out there :)

Nautilus X

Post by Noodle » Tue Jul 13, 2010 8:06 pm

Ahoy Burners!

The Diverse Exploration Machine - known from the shallows to the deeps as the Nautilus X is returning for her seventh year. Retro fitted for the rough playa seas, Captain Nemo's deep submergence vehicle is traversing the waters of Metropolis.

Seek ye adventure? The throbbing pulsations of the inner Warp Core? Bass enough to shake any booty? Join our enlisted ranks.

The Nautilus X is a refurbished fully functional 60' MAN coach that operated along the 38 Geary line for 18 years in San Francisco. The last of the MAN series, she retired from MUNI's articulated fleet in 2002. Now diving the deeps of the playa, her sturdy crew provides a safe 'n' sound journey, discovering all the treasures our brethren burners have provided.

The Warped Core, our stage, is an accordion central round section in the middle of the vehicle that stays calm and smooth as both ends move around it. We can accommodate DJ's and bands with up to 4-5 members. We will be running two sets a night. 10pm to 2am and 2am til...

If ye think your skills be mighty enough to travel back in time and make our seventh voyage one of legend, provide a sample of your media and a list of any experience to

This will be our first year doing a larger setup, and we want to do it right! We have a 24ft dome with a DJ booth, and a 50 foot shade structure that we would love to fill with your sounds!

Please contact me at if you would like to play!

Calling all cabaret performers!

Can you dance? Sing? Perform magic and feats of prestidigitation? Do you tell a decent joke? Or an indecent one? Walk on glass? Strip? Recite poems or stories? Have a burlesque act? Hoop in a restricted space? Undertake acrobatics? Just do something freakish with a folding chair that the denizens of Black Rock City should all see before they die?

It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned pro or have never performed before a crowd before: we have the space for you.

Quixote's Cabaret Club and Bar is a group of (mainly) Europeans who are returning to the playa for the sixth year, bringing a cabaret stage and bar. We run shows on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, and love creating nights of the most varied performance possible.

We have a basic stage, simple sound system and lighting, and can guarantee you a receptive audience. Unfortunately we're not really set up for bands, but can just about manage a couple of guitars and singers. And we don't have a piano. We get asked this every year. See the bit about coming from Europe...

If you're yearning to perform, we've got the spot for you. PM me, or drop me a line at momma (dot) quixote (at) googlemail (dot) com

Repeat, sorry. Black Rock Diner seeking daytime music

Post by DinerGrrrl » Wed Aug 04, 2010 11:41 am

Sorry for repeating myself; I meant to post within this thread in the first place, but accidentally wound up starting a new topic thread (or two) in Art and Performance. Apologies if you saw this there, too.

The Black Rock Diner is seeking musicians to play live during the daytme hours. Our shade/chill space will be large and casbah-themed this year. So special kudos if you bring sounds that evoke North Africa.

I specified acoustic music in the other post, but that might not necessarily have to be the case. The main thing is that we want to cultivate a somewhat relaxing, inviting vibe at the casbah. So, electric can maybe work, but we're not looking to blow the doors know, if there were doors.

I need stand-up comics to do 5-minute sets at Hair of the Dog Camp's stage (8:00 & E) on Tuesday night. Don't Panic Camp is hosting.

This is NOT a clean show, so it's totally OK to play blue.

Sacred Cow Grille Looking for Bhangra/Bollywood DJ

Post by reload » Thu Aug 26, 2010 2:59 pm

The Sacred Cow Grille, serving authentic Indian food at 7:30 and Athens from Wed-Fri, is looking for a DJ on Friday night. I will be spinning bhangra jungle, Bollywood beats, and tabla'n'bass on Wednesday and Thursday during dinner hours (6-9ish), but sadly have to leave the playa early on Friday daytime. If you are a DJ that can play Indian music, please bring CDs (we have CD-Js and a mixer) and come by during the week. We'll also be there for pre-event. Ask for me or Kwati.
