2007 was my first burn and part of what made a night on the playa so great was seeing that EL-wire buzzsaw cutting across the surface of the earth. Like any mutant vehicle it looked hideous during the day, but at night it was incredible. I love the simplicity. Returning in 2008 I was looking forward to seeing the buzzsaw, but it was gone.
I didn't get to go to the 2009 event.
Any word on it this year?
I'm still looking for a photo...

You mean lame-ass ones look like shit in daylight. Not everyone slaps plywood over a pickup truck and hangs lights on it and calls it done.
Rather than "petition" to bring back that one, build one yourself. That's how the system works.

I first arrived on the playa in 2004 just before midnight, and one of the first things I saw while I was trying to comprehend Black Rock City was a sawblade ripping through the middle of it. That was the first art vehicle I ever saw, and one of my favorite.
Another one I miss is the Miracle Grow flower.

You mean this?
If you look close, you can see the "Fear Trap" (Venus Fly Trap mutant vehicle) in the back there.
