...those sufficiently motivated could observe said Offenders in their daily (and nightly) goings, with a camera and telephoto lens, capturing anything of interest. This could be followed by a brief conversation (along with a copy of said photos) with the appropriate Agencies (of which there are a plethora on Playa). All without confronting said Offenders at all. Problem solved.

Not that I would do that...

(but I saw it happen once...and it was very effective at ridding our neighborhood of obnoxious PA twerps, I must admit - just sayin')

As fate had it that is just where our camped landed we don't make it a point to camp across from people and annoy the hell out of em. For the most part we did have good interaction with Hushvillians.....well at least I did I can't speak for others. I do know of one negative interaction and to be honest that set my orneriness off a bit.

I do and try to get the others to camp out towards the outer arms more but so far I've had zero luck. We started out small years ago and at times I wouldn't mind going back to that but then I am just one of many.

As far as noisy gennys go....I got the pleasant experience this last year of someone in camp positioning one about 10 feet off my motorhome. Needless to say I was quite "stoked" about that. Mallards even annoy each other.

LOL on the drums. I did a little wish for rain, but knew it wouldn't happen. I did want to find the guy with the trumpet and give him money for more lessons.

Although I do know of one set of Hushers who uprooted their long-standing camp position and retreated to the interior of the village. I can't speak for them, of course.

Yeah, probably just one bad interaction. Although I do wonder what became of the three guys who were there and then forced out?

Ah, the genny. Right on the road. At least it was pointed toward the potties. Start suggesting a baffle box now?

As AntiM mentioned, Hushville was placed on the theme camp/village map well in advance of the event, and one of our representatives introduced himself and our camp to the handful of young ladies who (contrary to the terms of their early entry passes) chased off a handful of other campers from the corner where Mallard later set up, roping off a large area.

LittleDrummerBoy, I know you're new to this board, so I'll reiterate for you Ranger Genius' One Rule of Burning Man (TM): "Don't be a dick." The group drumming at Mallard clearly violated this rule on at least a couple occasions, to the point where Civilized Explorer relocated from their long-tenured spot to the interior of the village to get away from them. Luckily for you, they were too civilized for guerilla action. Believe me, plans were hatched elsewhere.

Remember that in addition to being dedicated to radical self-expression and Radical Inclusion, Burning man is designed to be a gift economy. So any self-expression is welcome, but it should take the form of a gift. When it starts to become more of an imposition, you're doing it wrong.

When neighbors can't resolve conflicts themselves, Rangers sometimes step in to help mediate disputes. We don't really have any actual power, but can often help participants come to an amicable agreement. If DrumTillYourIQis80 had approached the process with the same attitude he has here, I guess juvenile retaliation would be my recommended approach. Fair warning: Burners can be as creative in their revenge as in their other endeavors. Remember that these are people who will invest tens of thousands of man-hours in building a structure they intend to burn to the ground in a matter of minutes. Spending four hours waiting behind a port-a-potty door with a super-soaker full of elk urine is nothing. Just sayin'.

Happy thoughts for Hushville now

Talked to Marty today and we will have a large shade structure, a costco carport 10 x20 for anyone from Hushville who would like to pop in and cool off and sit a spell.
I am a virgin but doing my research and have a great mentor (you know who you are) who doesnt have to babysit me, just hang out and have a great week at BM.

For people at Hushville, look for the powder blue vintage trailer (no generator) with flowers all over it and come and say hi. Give a virgin a hug

We are Hushvillagers looking forward to our third burn this year. Just catching your thread lately because the burn is only a few short months away, and i decided to check eplaya.

We are from BC, north of you, and drive down hwy 97 through the inland. What part of Oregon?

Hushville is great, not all that hushy, as you have likely figured from the Mallards discussion. We were directly across from them and survived. Being awakened at 3 or 4 am to a very out of tune Bohemian Rhapsody just made us burst out laughing.

The attraction of Hushville for us is that it is a theme camp with no theme, just a set of agreed to guidelines. A village of self sufficiency. And we are very efficient at that, as was seen from the aerial pic of BRC. Our camping had to be the densest in the whole playa. Yea us!

We are Strange and Charm, the Quarks. Look for our mail box, and we will have an eye out for your shade structure. See you at the Playa.

You are going to see the stripped down version though

I am taking everything out,even the turquoise blue couches. Just going to get a foam pad to sleep on in it. Doing a camping trip on the Friday before with the "sisters on the fly" group in Sisters, Oregon. Then down to BM

Quick question for you or anyone else for that matter.
Is Hushville a camp in which there are camp dues or is it simply an area in which people of like minded sensibilities group together to enjoy the week? Just curious... I like to have fun, but would enjoy some "quiet" at 4 am if I choose to go to sleep.

Hushville has no camp dues. Like-minded people yes, but also requires you sign up at Hushville.com. Later in the summer you must register with the village, and will be given a super-secret handshake and a decoder ring. LOL. But really, you must pre-register as we get too crowded when we were open to all comers. There's a list. And a clipboard. We stay up all Sunday night as the gates open and shoo away RVs and others who think all our open space looks perfect.

Even registration does not guarantee a space, but you have the opportunity to squeeze in.
