Well that's an interesting comment to make. My experience, and I'm only 32 here, is that the gay camps tend to be run by older guys who have their shit together and younger gay men tend to join these established camps looking for a community or resources or whatever.Tiahaar wrote:well I could be stepping in it here again but there is this other side of the coin (NOT saying it necessarily applies here to your case jarjar, and I luv that name by the way) that gay camps have to deal with, and thus may have mistaken your camp request for: there are old trolls who like to camp with/by young bucks and oggle and otherwise innappropiately act as if they are prime companion material...its just the way it is, and camps really try to filter out those types so if someone doesn't know you well don't take it personally. Have a great time anyways!
You rarely see a real organized theme camp of gay boys in their 20s because of all the infighting and drama ...So I don't see how they would be screening for "trolls."
I've never camped with a gay camp, but as a visitor I've definitely felt that predatory vibe that you are describing at certain spots....But christ, isn't that human nature? You get the same shit in the straight world....
Really glad there is a discussion about/among gays at burning man....Definitely a favorite topic of mine :)

Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for a night.
Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

This will be my 2nd Burn but my first for exploring the E-Playa.
It makes me happy to witness such camaraderie!
And to have such a wealth of veteran knowledge & advice at your fingertips is invaluable.
My first year our theme camp was already an established group with multiple gay/bisexual men & women to counsel me.
I'm attending again with my same camp, but am looking forward to making new connections now that I'm familiar..
Can't wait to see you all in the dust!!
Cheers,

Queer calender for 2010
not sure if toaster put up the link for the queer calender on here that david on gayburner created:
https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B9 ... qfgB&pli=1
As for camping with queer folks or not, many of the queer camps do have some non-queer folks camping with them and some like Quoite's are actually mostly straight. Some are male centric, some female centric, some qenderqueer centric, some are mostly older folks, some young kids. Even if you aren't into "gay culture" you will find that many of the queer folks on the playa don't fit easily into those boxes either.
As a queer and one who has the luxury of being in the queer bubble of SF, it's nice to have camps I can go to where I get my fix of hang out with other queers. If you are a dyke, lesbian or queer girl then while everyone is totally open and friendly to the queers, straight boys will be straight boys and get hitting on a shit ton can be rather freaky especially if you are spend your off playa live in queer culture. For the gay boys it's nice to go and hang with guys that you know are actually flirting with you with intent and not just rolling or sometimes even clueless about what is going on (not to say there aren't tons of straight boys open to some blow and go).
the majority of the times we've gone to BM we have camped in queer camps some of which were really mixed with gay/straight, boy/girl and some that were pretty gay boy centric. It's nice to have a home camp to come back to that feel comfortable and that does it for us.
then too is the reality that everyone (expect for a few events) is welcome at most queer camp regardless of who they bang.

mOVING FORWARD!
Anyone is welcome to drop by and say "Hello' at Moonbow Camp! Athens & 3:00.
We're hosting the BRC Gay pride parade again this year on Friday at 2pm, starting at the Man and ending with a fun reception back at Camp! Be Sharply there and Queer! Invite your Friends, Lovers, Campmates & Everyone!
After the Burn, look for us at the LA Decom with our Pride flags and Lounge. And in 2011, we're welcoming all Gay Burners to Long Beach Pride to show what we can do without Commericialism and with Radical Self Expression, in other words, probably a Lounge to relax, shade, couches and meeting our brothers and sisiters without spending money! It's time that the Pride celebrations offer more for our community & expression, and we're going to lead the way!
See you on the Playa and at Home,
Mario

wondering if any one knows if there is such a thing as a penis pumper or saline infuser camp or group or anything. would i have to go to stiify lube to seek them out or do i have to make my own camp? do they exist already?
any info on sexual body modification camps, with an emphasis on penis enlargment would be most welcome and valued.
if you wan to know more or chat, message me.

"swolen scrote" ahem, yes, quite.
Why the fuck does saline infusion have to be in the gay camp thread?
You need your own thread!
I like me some swolen scrote as much as the next straight guy!
Nothing queer about that.
Carry on!
hey bud, i can see from your avatar that you are to the point. i was just testing the waters, yeah, I dont thinkits exclusivly gay either like body building. i find mostly gay guys like talking about each others "scrotes" though. Any way ill take yer advice and start my own thread. but anyone with more info please respond anyway.
